With only one final event remaining on the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge calendar, Global Motorsports Group (GMG) Racing driver Jason Bell is ready to close the season strong. In what could be described as only an up and down season for the Audi R8 GT4 LMS driver, Bell will take on the Watkins Glen International Raceway this weekend as he looks to springboard his momentum into 2019.

Competing in the GTSA division, Bell currently sits eighth in the overall championship battle and with a solid points haul in the state of New York, could close the season fifth in the title chase.

“My results this season have not been reflected in our speed,” explained Bell, who often finds himself in the top-five on the time charts. “We have had some bad racing luck, switched teams and have had a new car to go through but have been quick week in and week out. The Watkins Glen track is one that suits my driving style and should be good for us.”

Watkins Glen is one of the many historic facilities throughout North America and often provides for great racing action. With multiple different types of corners as well as elevation changes, drivers and teams will need to be on their game to ensure success.

Bell continued, “There is no promoters test sessions on Thursday for this week so we will need to roll off the trailer well on Friday morning for our only two practice sessions of the weekend. The GMG program is second to none and I have some great teammates, so I am confident that we will be on pace right away.”

With practice taking place on Friday, qualifying for race one will commence Saturday morning before wheel-to-wheel action for race one kicks off Saturday afternoon. Sunday’s schedule will see the second race of the weekend with lap times from Saturday’s event setting the grid for Sunday.

Jason Bell would like to thank his partners for their continued support. A special thanks to Continental Benefits, Osteria, Frost NYC, Gridsport, Reeves Motorsports, Audi of Tampa and Global Motorsports Group.
