Competitors from Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Portugal and Spain have registered for the upcoming, seven-event Goodyear FIA ETRC season, while race-by-race entries will result in Czech Republic, Finland and France also being represented with the potential for more. In another positive development, trucks from at least five manufacturers will be on track in the ever-popular series that combines the excitement of truck racing with entertainment, sustainability and technical innovation.
Heading the chase for Goodyear FIA ETRC glory is reigning champion Norbert Kiss, who is bidding for a record-extending eighth title in 2026. The Hungarian will line up for Révész Racing and carry the #1 on the side of his MAN.
Germany’s Jochen Hahn, who finished runner-up to Kiss last term and has six FIA ETRC titles to his name, will be IVECO-powered once again in 2026, with Briton John Newell, 11th overall in the 2025 end-of-year standings following his victory in Race 2 at Jarama, and third among the Chrome-registered contenders, counting on MAN power.
Team T Sport Bernau’s Antonio Albacete, twice a winner of the overall FIA ETRC title, gets an all-new MAN for the eagerly-anticipated 2026 season with Bradley Smith, from Great Britain, taking the wheel of the Spaniard’s previous MAN. Smith was second in the final Chrome ranking in 2025, three points behind champion Mark Taylor, who returns in 2026, also driving a MAN.
For the second season running, Steffen Faas will race a Freightliner, the only driver planning a full Goodyear FIA ETRC campaign this year to do so, with the German competing under the tankpool24-Racing banner.
German Clemens Hecker will count on Scania power in 2026, while countrymen Sascha Lenz and Stefan Kursch compete in MAN trucks. Lenz finished fourth in the final 2025 Goodyear FIA ETRC table, just five points behind Steffi Halm, a winner on one occasion last season. Halm returns in her familiar IVECO for a full-season bid.
Double 2025 race winner José Eduardo Rodrigues flies the Portuguese flag in the Goodyear FIA ETRC with the third-generation driver competing in a MAN. Briton Luke Garrett is also MAN-equipped, as is Germany’s René Reinert, who placed fifth in the points in 2025 on the back of four race wins.
Spain’s Luis Recuenco has switched from an IVECO to a Mercedes for 2026, with his new truck creating significant interest during last month’s three-day test at Autodrom Most.
In addition, several drivers have already announced plans to compete on a race-by-race basis. They include 2017 champion Adam Lacko from Czech Republic and Finland’s Emma Mäkinen. Other drivers preparing for race-by-race outings include French driver Jonathan André, Lukas Hahn, the son of multiple title winner Jochen Hahn, and Christian Ruppert, a Goodyear FIA ETRC newcomer in 2025.
FIA Truck Racing Commission President Ignacio Fernandez said: “Announcing the first full-season entry list since the FIA took full control of the Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship is another important milestone. It is also a demonstration of the collective belief in the series by the drivers and teams, who continue to make what is a substantial commitment to take part. Furthermore, the fact we welcome back drivers who have not competed in recent seasons underlines the appeal of the championship and we look forward excitedly to further line-up announcements ahead of the new season getting under way later this month.”
