Teams and drivers are eagerly awaiting the inaugural 24H PROTO SERIES powered by Hankook season that will get underway later this summer. The organisers and promoters of the 24H PROTO SERIES powered by Hankook have announced two events with a total of five races. The Hankook 12H CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD will serve as the season opener on 18 and 19 August with three races of four hours each. Then the action continues at the legendary circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes with the Hankook 12H SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, featuring a pair of six-hour races from 6-8 October. The 24H PROTO SERIES powered by Hankook is the world’s first real prototype-only endurance series with twelve hours of racing at top-level circuits that allow for high speeds and therefore are perfectly suited for prototype races. Moreover, CREVENTIC is announcing non-championship prototype races at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, in November this year, and at Dubai Autodrome in January, 2018.

“Our series is aimed at amateur drivers as we are providing them with a lot of track time at challenging race circuits at affordable costs. Like this, we enable them to experience the real world of endurance racing as our prototype races are the longest races currently available for this type of cars,” CREVENTIC’s Ole Dörlemann says. “The 24H PROTO SERIES powered by Hankook is the world’s first real prototype-only endurance series with twelve hours of racing at top-level circuits.”

A wide variety of cars

The Hankook 3x3H DUBAI prototype races held at Dubai Autodrome in January this year attracted a wide variety with P3 cars, Ginetta G57s and CN prototypes from four different brands. Participation in the races of the 24H PROTO SERIES is possible for a wide variety of prototype race cars with many different classes. The classes at a glance:

– P2: P2-Prototypes (performance guideline: 3-5 Seconds faster than P3, e.g. Ginetta G57-P2)

– P3: ADESS 03, Ginetta P3-15, Ligier JS P3, Norma M30, Riley-Ave LMP3 (5000cc)

– Px: Special Prototypes, Admission on individual basis

– CN1: Production Sports Cars (Group CN) MY 2011 and younger up to 2000cc and 1620cc Turbo

– CN2: Production Sports Cars (Group CN) MY 2010 and older up to 2000cc and 1620cc Turbo

Driver categories are identical to those in the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, with a maximum of two ‘Pro’ drivers and a minimum of one ‘Am’ driver per team.

Attractive testing option at Circuit Paul Ricard

“Especially our race at Circuit Paul Ricard could serve as an attractive testing option, because the ELMS round at the same venue is taking place only one week later,” Ole Dörlemann continues. “We are offering attractively prized packages that include the entry fee and a service package that covers the use of a shared pit box, Hankook tyres and the central fuel station.

New races at COTA and Dubai

Apart from the races at Circuit Paul Ricard and Spa-Francorchamps, CREVENTIC will also be organising a prototype event with three races of three hours each will be held at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, with the Hankook 9H COTA (9-10 November). Prototypes will also be back in action at Dubai Autodrome for the Hankook 12H DUBAI, a pair of six-hour races on 6-7 January, 2018. For the races at COTA and DUBAI, which are non-championship races, the entry fee includes transport. These events offer a great opportunity for drivers to combine them with the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook events at the same venue. Further information can be found at http://www.24hprotoseries.com.
