The new Chevrolet Camaro introduced in NWES !
With a move that aligns the series with its American model, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, Euro NASCAR unveiled today the new NWES Chevrolet Camaro. Its aggressive and dynamic look will hit the European tracks in two months during the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season opener in Valencia.
“The new NWES Chevrolet Camaro is definitely a terrific car! I’m really proud of the job done by the development team with the support of the NASCAR R&D Center. I’m also sure fans will be delighted to watch it fight door to door with the Ford Mustang and Toyota Camry and hear our unique roaring V8. This year more than ever, the NWES will offer one of the best racing across Europe, a must see for every race fan!” said Jerome Galpin, NASCAR Whelen Euro Series President / CEO.
The new Camaro body, with its characteristic front, is the fourth iteration for the winningest manufacturer in NASCAR Whelen Euro Series history and features all main stylistic clues of its Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series counterparts, further strengthening the link between NASCAR in Europe and in the US.
Since the Euro Series entered the NASCAR family in 2012, all NWES Champions and five out of six ELITE 2 Division Champions have driven a Chevrolet to Victory Lane.
The Camaro body will replace the 2017 SS model and will be available for the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series teams alongside the Ford Mustang and Toyota Camry bodies.
The first race for the brand new Chevrolet Camaro will be on April 14-15 in Valencia, Spain, when the Valencia NASCAR Fest will kick off the 2018 Euro NASCAR season.
