The third round of the World Endurance Championship Super Season takes place at Silverstone (GBR) this weekend and BMW Team MTEK is ready to battle for a podium position after a promising start to the season.
The 2018-19 WEC Super Season resumes this weekend and the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing team is ready to continue the fight for top honours in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Round 3 takes place at the world-famous Silverstone Circuit, just a few miles from Greatworth Park where the team is based, making this the home event.
TOYOTA GAZOO Racing returns to action two months after an emotional Le Mans 24 Hours victory with the third round of the 2018-19 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the 6 Hours of Silverstone, in Great Britain this weekend.
Silverstone hosts round three of the FIA World Sports Car Championship WEC on 19 August. After scoring a double victory at Le Mans, the Porsche GT Team travels to England leading the drivers’ and manufacturers’ classifications in the GTE-Pro class. A six-strong fleet of 510 hp Porsche 911 RSR will tackle the race on the 5.901-kilometre tradition-steeped circuit in the British Midlands: two in the GTE-Pro class and four in the GTE-Am class.
“It has been a great year and we’ve had a chance to make some new friends and fans during this year’s tour,” said Rick Warnes, who along with Randy Hollingsworth and Bill Pickford make up the OMRS group of officials. “Our car counts have been strong, with a dozen or more teams scoring points in at least one main event and only a single rainout on the calendar.”
A second day of podiums for both Panoz Avezzanos at Utah Motorsports Campus. Starting on pole, the #50 driven by Ian James and Mathew Keegan finished second, reversing the positions of yesterday’s race with the #69 driven by Harry Gottsacker. Starting in eighth, the #50 driven by Preston Calvert, had an eventful race, but finished second in class, ninth overall.

Qualifying this morning went well for the Team Panoz crew. Mathew Keegan put the #50 Panoz Avezzano on the front row of the grid in second, and Preston Calvert qualified ninth overall, third in class with the #51 Panoz Avezzano.
The weekend of 18 – 19 August is set to play host of the penultimate round of the GT4 Central European Cup season. After the excitement of the last two races at the Nürburgring, the teams and drivers will be continuing their fight for championship honours in Slovakia.

In Friday’s action, Clarksburg, Ontario’s Ben Young scored the pole for Saturday’s featured Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship Race 1. Riding the No. 86 BMW S1000RR, Young posted the fastest time in qualifying with a 1:20.523. Starting alongside Young on Saturday will be 12-time series Champion Jordan Szoke. Szoke, from Lynden, Ont., rode his No. 1 BMW S1000RR to a time of 1:20.991. Szoke comes into the weekend looking to secure his 13th, and fourth straight, championship.
