WAKO’S 4CR LC500 TAKES SUPER GT POLE AT BURIRAM

The qualifying for the Chang SUPER GT RACE, Round 4 of the 2019 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, took place on June 29 at the Chang International Circuit (one lap 4,554m) in Buriram, Thailand. The GT500 class pole position winner was the No. 6 WAKO’S 4CR LC500 driven by Kazuya Oshima and Kenta Yamashita with a course record of 1’23.260 by Yamashita. In the GT300 class, the class pole position went to the No. 25 HOPPY 86 MC driven by Takamitsu Matsui and Kimiya Sato, also in a course record time by Matsui. With this, these two cars will start from the front position on their respective class starting grids in the race on June 30.

PORSCHE GB JUNIOR HARPER LAYS DOWN MARKER AFTER DOMINANT OULTON PARK CARRERA CUP GB QUALIFYING

18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR) took the sixth pole position of his Porsche Carrera Cup GB career at Oulton Park. Harper was involved in a hard-fought battle for a front row starting spot with George Gamble (Amigos Redline Racing), Lewis Plato (Motorbase Performance) and returnee Tom Wrigley (Rob Boston Racing). The top Rookie was Tom Roche (Rob Boston Racing) who qualified an impressive fourth, but championship contender Josh Webster (Team Parker Racing) will be a driver to watch at the start of round seven as he starts from the third row of the grid.

The 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season resumes following the traditional Le Mans break with BMW Team RLL ready to compete in this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours Of The Glen, at Watkins Glen International. The 2019 Rolex 24 At Daytona winners have been unable to reach the GTLM class podium in subsequent rounds at Sebring, Long Beach and Mid-Ohio, but feel confident of a stronger performance at The Glen following a Balance of Performance change that will see a nominal power increase for the BMW M8 GTE.

DOUBLE FERRARI CHALLENGE UK WIN FOR JASON BAKER AT SNETTERTON

Snetterton was the venue for the second round of the new Ferrari Challenge UK 2019 series, in which 20 Ferrari clients competed in Race 3 and Race 4 of the 8 race championship. Jason Baker (Dick Lovett Swindon) had another stellar weekend in the Trofeo Pirelli category, taking two Pole Positions and two Race Wins on Saturday and Sunday, ahead of Jamie Clarke (Stratstone Manchester) who once again pushed Jason right to the chequered flag in a repeat of the season opener at Brands Hatch. This means Jason Baker extends his lead in the Championship, with four wins from four races.
