POINTS ‘IN PROGRESS’ FOR TRIVELLATO RACING BY VILLORBA CORSE IN GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES

A successful weekend with important points and most of all more progress for Trivellato Racing by Villorba Corse at Zandvoort. The Dutch circuit hosted the third round of the 2021 GT4 European Series where the Italian team took action with its two Mercedes-AMG GT4 and four young drivers getting its best results of the season, especially with British GT4 champion Jamie Caroline and his Swiss teammate Jean Luc D’Auria on the #70 car. On track with 38 cars, Trivellato’s crew was protagonist in both races, always pushing hard and also keeping a solid pace. Their performances and Caroline’s brilliant overtakings in the second part of race 1 brought to gain many positions, finishing ninth overall and seventh in class (Silver Cup).

GILARDONI AND PULCINI RAKE THIRD WIN OF THE LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE SEASON IN SECOND ZANDVOORT RACE

Oregon Team’s Kevin Gilardoni and Leonardo Pulcini recorded their third Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe victory in six races following a calculated drive in the second race of the weekend at Zandvoort. The #11 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo started third on the grid but made a decisive pass on eventual second place finisher Sebastian Balthasar (#2 Leipert Motorsport) on the first lap to gain the upper-hand either side of the mandatory pit-stops.

MERCEDES-AMG MOTORSPORTS STARTS DTM SEASON WITH PODIUM RESULTS

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport enjoyed a successful return to the series in the DTM season opener at Monza in Italy. In the first of the two sprint races, Vincent Abril (MCO) and Maximilian Götz (GER) with the Mercedes-AMG GT3s of Mercedes-AMG Team HRT finished in second and third place and therefore secured podium results on the comeback. With third place in the Sunday race, Lucas Auer (AUT) added another podium result with the car with starting number 22 run by Mercedes-AMG Team WINWARD.

THE BMW M4 GT3 TO ATTEND THE ‘OFFICIAL TEST DAYS’ AHEAD OF THE 24 HOURS OF SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS

The new flagship in the BMW M Motorsport programme is set for its premiere on the famous ‘Eau Rouge’. As part of the development work, the BMW M4 GT3 will attend the official tests ahead of the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL). The ‘Official Test Days’ take place at the circuit in the Ardennes on 22nd and 23rd June. Just a few days later, the new BMW M4 GT3 will complete its first test under race conditions on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER).

WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS REVEALS DRIVER CHANGES IN IMSA PROGRAMS

Heading into the fifth event of the IMSA season, Wright Motorsports has announced changes to the driver lineup of the No. 16 Porsche 911 GT3 R in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Trent Hindman will replace full-season driver Ryan Hardwick to race alongside Patrick Long in the GTD-class championship while Hardwick continues his championship efforts in the Michelin Pilot Challenge with Jan Heylen in the No. 16 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport in the GS class.

GRT GRASSER RACING WITH STUNNING SHOWING IN MOTOR CITY

GRT Grasser Racing Team were successful on both sides of the Atlantic at the weekend. The Austrian team were in action both in their ADAC GT Masters home fixture at Spielberg and over 7,000 kilometres away in Motor City, Detroit, where the second round of the Sprint Cup in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship took place. The outfit had excellent showings both in the USA and at home. Lamborghini works driver Marco Mapelli and America veteran Misha Goikhberg went on an incredible charge up the field, claiming a second podium of the weekend.

MAXIMILIAN BUHK REPLACES GARY PAFFET AT MUCKE MOTORSPORT IN AT MONZA

Mücke Motorsport will not be fielding DTM champion Gary Paffett in the Space Drive cockpit at the DTM season opener in Monza. He will be replaced at the high-speed circuit in Monza next weekend and at the second race at the Lausitzring from 23 to 25 July by Maximilian Buhk, who was already behind the wheel for the tests at the Hockenheimring and in Monza a good fortnight ago. The #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3, with Space Drive steer-by-wire technology, which requires no mechanical connection at all between the steering unit and the steering gear, is an important part of the development programme of Schaeffler Paravan Technologie GmbH & Co. KG and Space Drive 3.
