Raffaele Marciello (27/I) leads the ADAC GT Masters at the halfway point of the season. After impressing in this morning’s qualifying, the pole-sitter from Mann-Filter Team Landgraf was on top form again in Saturday afternoon’s race at the Nürburgring. Together with his partner Maro Engel (36/Monte Carlo) in the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, Marciello won the seventh of the 14 races in the German GT Championship to claim his first victory of the season and move to the top of the championship standings. “I am obviously very happy today and delighted with the win. However, there is always room for improvement. We must also perform well in the coming races,” said Marciello, who goes into the second half of the season on Sunday as championship leader.

Official Qualifying for the FUJIMAKI GROUP FUJI GT 100 Lap RACE, Round 4 of the 2022 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, took place on August 6th at Fuji Speedway (one lap 4,563 m) in Shizuoka Prefecture. The GT500 class Pole Position was won by Sakaguchi in the No. 19 WedsSport ADVAN GR Supra (Yuji Kunimoto/Sena Sakaguchi) for the second straight time at Fuji since Round 2 and its 3rd consecutive time this season. The GT300 class pole was taken by Gamou in the No. 65 LEON PYRAMID AMG (Naoya Gamou/Takuro Shinohara). These two teams will start from the front of their respective class grids in tomorrow’s race on August 7th.

Great news ahead of the fourth event of the ADAC GT Masters season at the Nürburgring: Maro Engel (Monte Carlo) is returning to compete in the German GT Championship. The Mercedes-AMG Performance driver will be the new team-mate for Raffaele Marciello (27/I), driving the #48 “Mamba” for the Mann-Filter Team Landgraf. Engel will benefit from his extensive experience. The 36-year-old has already completed 50 races in the ADAC GT Masters, finishing the 2020 and 2021 seasons in third place.
Whelen Engineering drivers Pipo Derani (Brazil) and Olivier Pla (France) return to Road America for what the team hopes will be a repeat winning performance in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Fastlane SportCar Weekend Aug. 4-7. The team won this race last year from the pole position.

K-PAX Racing showed both its strength and willpower, as both were tested during the 74th edition of the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa. Withstanding all the challenges presented and on GT3 racing’s biggest stage worldwide, the team completed the full 24-hour duration to an 11th place finish.
Around two hours and just a bit of luck were all that was missing from an otherwise perfect debut for the BMW M4 GT3 at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL). Tyre damage to both ROWE Racing cars prevented a deserved podium finish after a superb, faultless performance. Making their Spa debut, the BMW Junior Team with Dan Harper (GBR), Max Hesse (GER) and Neil Verhagen (USA) chalked up an outstanding fifth place overall. In the #98 car, Nick Catsburg (NED), Augusto Farfus (BRA) and Nick Yelloly (GBR) battled for the lead for virtually the entire race before tyre damage put paid to their chances around 120 minutes before the finish. The trio crossed the line in sixth place.
