ESM NISSAN DPis SEEK TO CONQUER UNFINISHED BUSINESS AT WAKTINS GLEN

As the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship reaches the halfway point in the 2018 season, the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup resumes this weekend at Watkins Glen International. The Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen is the third race in the four races that make up the TPNAEC, an endurance championship within the existing calendar. While a win at Watkins Glen International has eluded Tequila Patrón ESM, the prototype team has dominated qualifying the last two years, earning pole positions in 2016 and 2017.

BLANCPAIN GT SERIES WEEKEND ROUND UP: MISANO

Following back-to-back Endurance events, the Blancpain GT Series returned to Sprint Cup competition last weekend with a pair of 60-minute contests at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The #1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT machine emerged victorious from both outings, though not before seeing off a severe challenge from AKKA ASP Team.

WATKINS GLEN AND CANADIAN TIRE MOTORSPORT PARK UP NEXT FOR BMW TEAM RLL

During the first four races of the 2018 season, the BMW M8 GTE scored a second place finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring (USA) with the #25 car of Bill Auberlen (USA), Connor De Phillippi (USA) and Alexander Sims (GBR) after starting from De Phillippi’s first GTLM class pole. A second pole by Edwards in the #24 BMW M8 GTE and De Phillippi and Sims’ second place finish in the #25 BMW M8 GTE at the most recent race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (USA) in early May showed the programme’s continuing competitiveness.

P PAUL MILLER RACING AIMS TO CONTINUE PODIUM STREAK AND INCREASE POINTS LEAD AT WATKINS GLEN

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is in full swing, and Paul Miller Racing has executed a perfect season thus far to create a four-race podium streak in as many races. With one win and three third place finishes, No. 48  Huracán GT3 leads the GTD class championship heading into the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen at Watkins Glen International Raceway.

PORSCHE HEADS INTO SECOND HALF OF THE IMSA SEASON AS POINTS LEADER

A fortnight after winning the 24-hour classic at Le Mans, Porsche takes on the next challenge in the USA: The six-hour race at Watkins Glen on 1 July heralds the start of the second half of the IMSA SportsCar Championship season. At the traditional race in the U.S. state of New York, the Porsche GT Team fields two Porsche 911 RSR in the strongly represented GTLM class. After scoring victories at Sebring and Mid-Ohio, Porsche leads the manufacturers’ classification of America’s premier sports car series. In addition to the long-distance races at Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans, Watkins Glen, too, counts towards the North American Endurance Cup. Porsche currently ranks second in the toughest and most important performance and reliability category in GT racing worldwide.

HANSON DETERMINED TO SCORE SECOND CONSECUTIVE U.S. TOP-FIVE

Phil Hanson heads for the penultimate round of the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup bidding to overcome the odds and score a podium finish next Sunday (1 Jul). The British teenager who was out of luck in his second Le Mans 24 Hours (16-17 Jun), contests the Six-Hour race at Watkins Glen in New York State with Paul Di Resta (GB) and Bruno Senna (BR) in a United Autosports Ligier JS P217.
