FOUR SERIES – FOUR PIT STOPS: PACE AND PERFECTION IN ALL ASPECTS

Perfect pit stops are important for success in every race series. While it will be primarily about the speed of changing tyres at next weekend’s DTM races in Brands Hatch (GBR), in endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL), it’s the right timing and coordination of the different procedures that is crucial. In addition to changing the tyres, the car is refuelled and a new driver enters the cockpit. We provide an overview of the pit stops in the various race series in which BMW M Motorsport is involved and compare the stops at the upcoming DTM races with those in the FIA WEC, the IMSA series and at the Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours.

FLYING LIZARD MOTORSPORTS BRINGS AUDI GT4 SQUAD TO UTAH MOTORSPORT CAMPUS

The penultimate round of the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) season has arrived, and this week the two Flying Lizard Motorsports Audi R8 GT4 cars will compete at the Grand Prix of Utah in Tooele, Utah. Adam Merzon and Ryan Eversley will compete in the No. 23 Case-It Racing by Flying Lizard Motorsports car while series newcomers Michael Dinan and Robby Foley will stand in for Michael Hedlund in the No. 45 Audi R8 LMS.

Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Round 6 Recap From Road America

ELKHART LAKE, Wis (Aug 5, 2018) – A warm, humid morning the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America competitors as they took the checkered flag at the 14-turn, four-mile Road America circuit. Exciting racing and a clean race followed the drop of the green flag and at the end of 50 minutes winners and podium finishers had the chance to celebrate in Victory Lane in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

MOTUL AUTECH GT-R DOMINATES SUPER GT QUALIFYING AT FUJI

The Official Qualifying for the FUJI GT 500 mile RACE, Round 5 of the 2018 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series was held on August 4 at Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture (one lap 4,563m). In the GT500, the No. 23 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (Tsugio Matsuda/Ronnie Quintarelli) won pole driven by Quintarelli. In the GT300 class, the No. 25 HOPPY 86 MC (Takamitsu Matsui/Sho Tsuboi/Tsubasa Kondo) won the class pole position..

AFTER THE WALKENHORST SENSATION AT SPA: BMW CUSTOMER RACING TEAMS LOOK BACK ON SUCCESSFUL SEASON SO FAR

Last weekend’s sensational triumph for Walkenhorst Motorsport at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL) with the BMW M6 GT3 was the highlight of the 2018 season so far from a BMW Customer Racing point of view. After seven months of race action, it has been a more than positive year to date for the three BMW M Motorsport customer race cars: the BMW M6 GT3, the new BMW M4 GT4 and the BMW M235i Racing have enjoyed plenty of success and thrilled motorsport fans around the world. As well as the BMW M6 GT3’s magnificent victory at Spa, the new BMW M4 GT4, in its first season, has also proved to be a successful model from the word go in the hands of international customers.

LAMBORGHINI DRIVER PERERA FASTEST IN OPENING ADAC GT MASTERS SESSION AT THE NURBURGRING

Fans of the ADAC GT Masters are in for some hot action at the Nürburgring in more ways than one this weekend (3rd-5th August). Lamborghini driver Franck Perera (34, F, GRT Grasser Racing Team) secured best time as temperatures nudged 30 degrees earlier in first practice. The gaps between cars were once again very small, demonstrating how evenly matched the field is in the Super Sports Car League. IronForce by RING POLICE’s Fan World is another big attraction at the meeting.

PAUL MILLER RACING CARRIES MOMENTUM AND POINTS LEAD TO ROAD AMERICA

Following a dominating win two weeks ago at Lime Rock Park, Paul Miller Racing will enter this weekend’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America with a ten point lead. The No. 48 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 has yet to finish outside the top four in seven races, making Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow the duo to watch in round eight of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

ESM RETURNS TO ROAD AMERICA TO DEFEND DPi WIN

After a series of challenging races in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Tequila Patrón ESM is pressing on to the next round in the championship to Road America, where the team earned Nissan its first DPi win in 2017. Drivers Johannes van Overbeek and Pipo Derani brought the No. 22 Nissan Onroak DPi to victory with drivers Scott Sharp and Ryan Dalziel finishing third in the No. 2 Nissan Onroak DPi, scoring the team a double podium finish.
