McLAREN CUSTOMER RACING STRENGTHENS PROFESSIONAL GT DRIVER INITIATIVE WITH THREE-TIER GT PROGRAMME

Ahead of the 2019 season, McLaren Customer Racing continues to broaden its offering for customer teams racing globally, while further strengthening its professional driver programmes with the formation of the McLaren Young Professional category. The addition of three new Factory Drivers have also been confirmed for the 2019 season with Álvaro Parente, who recently campaigned the 720S GT3 on its competitive debut, announced alongside American Michael Cooper and Canadian Kuno Wittmer. The 2019 race programme for the McLaren Automotive Driver Development Programme drivers has also been confirmed..

AUDI SPORT R8 LMS CUP’S 2019 SEASON SET FOR LAUNCH AT ADELAIDE 500

The eighth season of the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup will blast off the starting blocks this weekend at the Superloop Adelaide 500 in South Australia where the new 2019 evolution of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 will make its eagerly-anticipated Cup and Australia debut. The weekend’s double header marks the start of a 10-race, five-circuit season over which the all-privateer line-up will vie for the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup titles.

R-MOTORSPORT TO CONTEST THE 2019 BLANCPAIN GT SERIES WITH A HIGHLY COMPETITIVE SQUAD

The R-Motorsport calendar is starting to look exceptionally busy. In addition to the challenge of the DTM, the racing team from Niederwil in eastern Switzerland has a comprehensive programme of GT racing to prepare for. Following their successful debut season in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, R-Motorsport will once again compete in one of the world’s toughest GT racing series. This year, the Swiss outfit will contest the entire Blancpain GT Series, including the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe sprint championship alongside the Endurance Cup for the first time. They will be fielding two Aston Martin Vantage V8 GT3s in each of the two championships. And for the standout fixture of the season, the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, they will be sending a third car into the fray.

PARKER CHASE TO JOIN RENNTECH MOTORSPORTS FOR SRO AMERICA SEASON OPENER

After winning the Pirelli World Challenge SprintX Pro/Am title in 2018, 18 year-old champion Parker Chase is returning to the series this week for the season opening event at Circuit of The Americas with RENNtech Motorsports. The season will kick off with a double header race event at the Austin circuit, where Chase, a Texas native, will share the driving duties of the No. 89 Mercedes-AMG GT4 with Reinhold Renger in Pirelli GT4 America‘s East Pro/Am class.

LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO TITLE TRIUMPH FOR TARGET IN ITS MIDDLE EAST SERIES DEBUT

Timur Boguslavskiy and Frederik Schandorff have been crowned champions of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East, now in its third edition. After dominating the Dubai round, the crew of the Huracán Super Trofeo Evo no. 9 were untouchable at Abu Dhabi too, clinching the title for Target Racing on the team’s maiden season in the Middle East one-make series. Konrad Motorsport celebrated two title crowns: Axcil Jefferies and Ramez Azzam were victorious in the Pro-Am in car no. 29 while Vincent Schwartz secured the Am title behind the wheel of car no. 11. The Lamborghini Cup saw Gabriele Murroni take top honours with the Huracán Super Trofeo Evo no. 88, crowning his second season in the Super Trofeo Middle East.
