SEBRING WINNER PORSCHE SWITCHES FROM ENDURANCE TO SPRINT MODE

The Porsche GT Team tackles round three of the IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship season at Long Beach (USA) as the leader of the manufacturer and team classifications. After a hard-fought victory at the 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida, the two ca. 510 hp Porsche 911 RSR start under very different conditions at the Pacific coast. Contested over just 100 minutes, the so-called Sports Car Grand Prix in Long Beach is the shortest race of the season.

A new race season of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North American championship begins this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park, and P1 Motorsports will contest for the 2019 title with the No. 94 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO. Brett Meredith and newly named Lamborghini factory driver will kick off the double header weekend, sharing the driving duties in the ProAm class

AUDI CUSTOMER SQUADS LINE UP FOR BLANCPAIN GT WORLD CHALLENGE ASIA SEASON-OPENER

Five 2019 evolution Audi R8 LMS GT3 entries are set to thunder off the starting grid at the opening rounds of Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia this weekend at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit. In addition to having their eyes on the overall prize, the pairings will compete across three classes at the season launch of Asia’s most competitive multi-marque GT3 championship.

SUCCESSFUL TRACK DEBUT FOR THE NEW MERCEDES-BENZ EQ SILVER ARROW 01

The race debut of the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team is getting nearer by the day. Last week, the team passed yet another marker on the way to its first race in season six of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. At Varano in Italy, Stoffel Vandoorne and Venturi driver Edoardo Mortara took the new Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01 out for its first sequence of runs last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

CRAFT-BAMBOO RACING GEARS UP FOR A 4-CAR ASSAULT IN THE BLANCPAIN GT WORLD CHALLENGE ASIA

After a successful pre-season test, Craft-Bamboo Racing are looking to begin the 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia season at the Sepang International Circuit with a strong result in the team’s biggest ever line-up. Craft-Bamboo Racing, an Official Performance Team of Mercedes-AMG, will be fielding a trio of Mercedes-AMG GT3’s and a single GT4 entry in a bid for success in both classes.

TEAM ISR KEEP FAITH WITH FILIP SALAQUARDA AND FRANK STIPPLER IN THE ADAC GT MASTERS

After a debut season outstanding for the victory they scored at the Nürburgring, Team ISR go into the 2019 ADAC GT Masters with renewed determination. The driver line-up is the same as before: last year’s duo of Filip Salaquarda (35, CZ) and Frank Stippler (43, GER) will be driving an upgraded Audi R8 LMS. The season opener of the Super Sports Car League will take place on the weekend of 26th – 28th April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

PODIUM FOR PARK PLACE AT LAGUNA SECA

The new Porsche 911 GT3 R scored a place on the podium at its first outing in the Intercontinental GT Challenge. Works drivers Romain Dumas (France) and Sven Müller (Germany) as well as Porsche Young Professional Mathieu Jaminet (France) finished the eight-hour race at Laguna Seca (USA) in third place. Over long stretches, the trio driving the No. 911 vehicle of the American customer team Park Place Motorsports even looked on course for a win. The identical car fielded by the customer team Wright Motorsports had also led the race only to retire early with a technical defect.

BMW TEAM SCHNITZER AND WALKENHORST MOTORSPORT FINISH IN FIFTH AND EIGHTH PLACES IN LAGUNA SECA

The two BMW M6 GT3s finished in fifth and eighth positions in the “California 8 Hours”, the second of five races in the Intercontinental GT Challenge. Augusto Farfus (BRA), Martin Tomczyk (GER) and Chaz Mostert (AUS) from the BMW Team Schnitzer crossed the finishing line in Laguna Seca (USA) in fifth place after 326 laps. They had recorded the same result at the season-opener in Bathurst (AUS). The Walkenhorst Motorsport drivers Nick Catsburg (NED), Mikkel Jensen (DEN) and Christian Krognes (NOR) secured eighth place in Laguna Seca.
