AUDI AMBITIOUSLY BEGINS THE NEW FORMULA E SEASON

The new Formula E season kicks off with a double-header: On Friday and Saturday, the all-electric series will hold the first two in a total of 14 races this season on the outskirts of Riyadh. Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi from the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler team are the most successful pairing in the field and will be embarking on the world tour of five continents with their Audi e-tron FE06 as the challenger.

FIA GT WORLD CUP PODIUM FOR LAURENS VANTHOOR AND EARL BAMBER

Porsche has finished on the podium at the FIA GT World Cup in Macau (China) with two of Rowe Racing’s 911 GT3 R. The works drivers Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) and Earl Bamber (New Zealand) treated fans to a gripping fight in the Chinese metropolis and took the flag in second and third. The identical 500+hp vehicles fielded by Absolute Racing driven by Kévin Estre (France) and Alexandre Imperatori (Switzerland) retired early on the fast street circuit.

TWO PORSCHE 911 GT3 R ON THE FIA GT WORLD CUP QUALIFYING RACE PODIUM IN MACAU

At the qualifying race in China’s gamblers’ paradise of Macau, the Porsche drivers have secured excellent starting positions for the FIA GT World Cup (17 November). At the 12-lap event on the 6.1-kilometre street circuit, works drivers Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) claimed positions two and three. The two Porsche 911 GT3 R fielded by Rowe Racing will tackle the main race from the first and second grid row. In the identical 500+hp vehicle campaigned by Absolute Racing, Alexandre Imperatori (Switzerland) and Kévin Estre (France) achieved positions six and eight.

BLACK FALCON TAKES POLE FOR THE 2019 24H COTA USA

The Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 (#4, Ben Keating / Jeroen Bleekemolen / Felipe Fraga / Cooper MacNeil) has secured its first 24H SERIES pole position of the year at the season closing Hankook 24H COTA USA. Felipe Fraga posted a 2m 05.697s laptime around the 5.513km Circuit of the Americas, pulling the Mercedes-AMG almost half a second clear of the Toksport WRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 (#70, Nick Foster / Martin Berry / Eric Zang / George Kurtz) and giving an immense benchmark for teammate Jeroen Bleekemolen to try and beat during the closing stages of the session.

TWO PORSCHE 911 GT3 R QUALIFY IN THE TOP GROUP IN MACAU

The best Porsche 911 GT3 R takes up the qualifying race at the FIA GT World Cup in Macau (China) from third place. Works driver Earl Bamber (New Zealand) lapped the 6.1-kilometre Guia Circuit in the No. 98 vehicle in a time of 2:16.066 minutes. Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium), who also competes for the Porsche Rowe Racing team, planted the No. 99 sister car on fourth position. Driving for Absolute Racing, Alexandre Imperatori (Switzerland) and Kévin Estre (France) qualified on positions nine and 14 respectively.

SUNSHINE AND CLOUDS FOR BWT MUCKE MOTORSPORT IN 2019 ADAC GT MASTERS

Six drivers, four rings, three cars, one team: BWT Mücke Motorsport. The Berlin-based team lined up for a third time in 2019 with the intention of stirring things up in the ADAC GT Masters. Team Principal Peter Mücke once again put his trust in the tried and tested combination of youth and experience this year. And so, Nikolaj Rogivue and Stefan Mücke shared the drive in the BWT Audi R8 LMS #26. Jeffrey Schmidt and Audi Sport driver Christopher Haase were in the BWT Audi R8 LMS #25 while Mike David Ortmann and Audi Sport driver Markus Winkelhock lined up in the kfzteile24 Audi R8 LMS #24.

AUDI SPORT CUSTOMER RACING ANNOUNCES NEW MOTORSPORT STRATEGY FOR 2020

Audi Sport customer racing Asia has lifted the lid on its new motorsport strategy for 2020. Forming a central part is the new Audi Sport Asia Trophy that will reward privateers for entering their Audi race cars into championships across Asia. Based on a points-scoring system, customers will compete for a total of 100,000 Euros in financial rewards and a fully-funded GT3 entry into the 2021 Suzuka 10 Hours.

SHOWDOWN IN TEXAS: 24H COTA IS THE 24H SERIES CONTINENTS SEASON FINALE

After races in Asia and Europe, it is now time to head to North America for the season finale of the 2019 24H SERIES Continents powered by Hankook. For the third consecutive year, the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, will serve as the venue for the Hankook 24H COTA (15-17 November), organised by Dutch agency CREVENTIC. The combination of the 24H GT division and the 24H TCE division is expected to result into a grid of around 30 cars. “After two years, our event in the US is now firmly established,” CREVENTIC’s Peter Freij says. “It is pleasant to see the growing interest from North American teams: about a third of the grid are teams from the US and Canada.”
