1AIM VILLORBA CORSE NEARS THE PODIUM AT THE 4 HOURS OF BARCELONA

1AIM Villorba Corse made a brilliant season debut and the team almost reached the podium in the 4 Hours of Barcelona, first round of the 2021 European Le Mans Series. The Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio took a fourth place with Italian drivers Alessandro Bressan and Damiano Fioravanti and their Greek teammate Andreas Laskaratos on the #18 Ligier JS P320 powered by Nissan of the LMP3 class.

Di FOLCO DOMINATES SECOND LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE RACE AT MONZA

Imperiale Racing’s Alberto Di Folco produced an utterly dominant performance to take a lights-to-flag victory in the second Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe race of the weekend at Monza. The experienced Italian, driving solo, beat the Leipert Motorsport duo of Noah Watt and Sebastian Balthasar by just over eight seconds, while Raúl Guzman and Glenn van Berlo (Target Racing) completed the podium in third.

ENCOURAGING START TO 2021 SEASON FOR COOL RACING

Returning duo Maurice Smith and Matt Bell scored a good haul of points during the Michelin Le Mans Cup opener in Barcelona. Onboard the #69 Ligier JS P320, the pair rose through the order from seventh on the grid to fight for a place on the podium. Bell was running second before his final pit stop when an unfortunately timed Full Course Yellow period allowed others to pass him, bringing the car home fourth.

THREE NLS CLASS WINS IN SEASON OPENER FOR MERCEDES-AMG MOTORSPORT

In the delayed season opener of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS), the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Teams score multiple class achievements. With first place in the SP9 Am class (13th place overall) by the #9 GetSpeed Performance entry, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 got its season at the Nordschleife off to a successful start in the 45th NIMEX DMV 4h-Rennen. The Mercedes-AMG GT4 also continues its successful streak in the NLS: after four hours of racing, BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR (P1 for #140 and P2 for #141) secures a 1-2 in the merged SP4T and SP8T classes. The #162 Schnitzelalm Racing entry adds another victory in the SP10 class. Following the cancellation of the first round due to the weather, the customer teams now racked up relevant initial mileage in testing to be perfectly sorted for the season highlight, the ADAC Total 24h race (3-6 June).

MAX WEERING TAKES FIRST LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE WIN IN DRAMATIC MONZA OPENER

Max Weering stayed out of trouble to claim his and Johan Kraan Motorsports’ maiden Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe race victory in what turned out to be an action-packed season opener at Monza. Weering started eighth on the grid and had been running fourth in the closing minutes but profited from tyre dramas for the three cars in front of him to come out on top. Compatriots Milan Teekens and Maxime Oosten made it a Johan Kraan Motorsport one-two with second place ahead of Leipert Motorsport’s Noah Watt and Sebastian Balthasar.

18 AUDI R8 LMS CARS AT THE SEASON OPENER AT MONZA

Audi Sport customer racing has never been so strongly represented in the European racing series of promoter SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organization) as in the 2021 season. A total of nine of the brand’s customer teams will field three different types of race cars in three racing series at the inaugural weekend at Monza from April 16 to 18. Eight Audi R8 LMS GT4 cars will compete in the GT4 European Series, three GT2 versions in the new GT2 European Series and seven GT3 versions in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.

1AIM VILLORBA CORSE SET FOR BARCELONA 4 HOURS

The 2021 season of 1AIM Villorba Corse kicks off from the Montmelò circuit. The new project involving the team led by Raimondo Amadio is ready for the first round of the European Le Mans Series, the 4 Hours of Barcelona, which will take place on the Catalan circuit on April 16-18. The Italian team will line up the LMP3 Ligier JS P320 powered by Nissan with Italian drivers Alessandro Bressan and Damiano Fioravanti and their Greek teammate Andreas Laskaratos.
