K-PAX RACING SWEEPS WEEKEND AT THE GLEN

While the K-PAX Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVOs have been exceedingly challenged into the later stages of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS Championship, the team has continued to produce results that strengthen its hold around the three major titles up for grabs. The No. 3 of Jordan Pepper and Andrea Caldarelli swept Rounds 9 & 10 of the championship from pole position at Watkins Glen International.

WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS MAINTAINS SRO AMERICA POINTS LEAD AT WATKINS GLEN

Consistency is the name of the game for Wright Motorsports. The John Wright-led team celebrated another rewarding sports car racing weekend in SRO America, earning two pole positions and three podiums across its two Porsche racing efforts at Watkins Glen International. Both Porsche 911 GT3 R race cars had strong performances in each of the races, producing another points-hauling weekend to maintain the championship lead Fred Poordad, Jan Heylen, and Charlie Luck have accumulated throughout the season. 

COOL RACING TAKES EUROPEAN LE MANS SERIES LMP2 PRO-AM VICTORY AT SPA

The #37 Oreca 07 crew of Alexandre Coigny, Nicolas Lapierre and Charles Milesi took a dominant victory in the LMP2 Pro-Am class at the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, after Milesi took the overall pole position on his debut for COOL Racing. The result moves the team up to second in the Pro-Am standings.

LMP3 PODIUM AND LMP2 CHASSIS REBUILD FOR UNITED AUTOSPORTS AT SPA FRANCORCHAMPS

United Autosports have had a mixed weekend at Spa Francorchamps this weekend for the penultimate round of the 2021 European Le Mans Series, which included a podium finish for their LMP3 team and a full chassis rebuild overnight for their LMP2 team.

MERCEDES-AMG MOTORSPORT SECURES DTM RACE WIN AND COLLECTS VALUABLE POINTS IN THE BATTLE FOR THE TITLE

In the sixth event of the 2021 DTM season, Mercedes-AMG Team WINWARD secured the third win for Mercedes-AMG this year. Driving the car with starting number 22, Lucas Auer (AUT) achieved a commanding lights-to-flag victory at TT-Circuit Assen on Sunday. In the action-packed first race on Saturday, Mercedes-AMG Team HRT’s Maximilian Götz (GER) scored valuable championship points by finishing fourth. In the manufacturers’ standings, Mercedes-AMG extended its lead and is in front with a comfortable points’ margin.

SECOND PLACE FINISH AND DTM LEAD FOR LAWSON

Having moved to the top of the DTM standings after Race-1, Liam Lawson extended his championship lead with second place in Race-2 at Assen. A quick Alex Albon finished fifth.

SEVENTH PLACE ELMS FINISH FOR MacNEIL AT SPA

Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.), Christian Ried (Germany), and Matt Campbell (Australia) finished seventh in today’s running of the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) race at the Spa-Francorchamps.

Taylor Hagler put on a display of passing Saturday at Watkins Glen International, gaining four positions early in the opening stint to set up her second Pro-Am victory of the season in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS. 

K-PAX RACING COLLECTS No. 7 AT WATKINS GLEN

Several teams within the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS Championship are looking to catch their stride in the final stretch of the season, but it had been K-PAX Racing getting the most out of the ninth round of action Saturday at Watkins Glen International. The team earned its seventh victory – its sixth from pole position – setting the tone early.

MARVIN DIENST STEPS INTO THE SPACE DRIVE COCKPIT FOR MAXIMILIAN BUHK AT THE DTM IN HOCKENHEIM

For the penultimate DTM weekend from October 1-3 at Hockenheim, Marvin Dienst will take over for Maximilian Buhk in the Space Drive cockpit of the #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3, which has no mechanical connection at all between the steering unit and the steering gear. The regular driver of the steer-by-wire car, Maximilian Buhk, is prevented from competing as he is driving in another race. The AMG GT3 performed well at the last DTM weekend in Spielberg, securing further points for Mercedes-AMG Team Mücke Motorsport. “We hope to build on this success next weekend at the TT Circuit in Assen, the Netherlands,” says Maximilian Buhk.

FLYING LIZARD MOTORSPORTS PULLS DOUBLE DUTY IN NEW YORK AND UTAH

After a triple podium weekend at Road America in the previous GT America doubleheader, Flying Lizard Motorsports will race this weekend at Watkins Glen International, returning with Andy Wilzoch and the No. 460 Porsche 911 GT3 R. The team will also field two entries in the Yokohama Drivers Cup at Utah Motorsport Campus, driven by Chris Bellomo and Mike Gaulke.

The schedule continues to move almost relentlessly forward for Wright Motorsports as the SRO America series returns September 17 – 20. Wright Motorsports will approach the Watkins Glen International weekend with a sizeable point leads in both GT World Challenge America and GT America series. FRITZ ENZINGER PASSES THE PORSCHE MOTORSPORT BATON TO THOMAS LAUDENBACH

Thomas Laudenbach (53) will assume the role of managing Porsche Motorsport on October 1, 2021. The accomplished German engineer takes over from Fritz Enzinger (65), who has led the racing department of the sports car manufacturer to countless successes since 2011. “We cannot thank Fritz Enzinger enough for his enormously successful work over the past ten years.
