JOTA MCLAREN AND MERCEDES-AMG TEAM TOKSPORT WRT SHARE OVERALL POLES FOR SPRINT CUP FINALE AT VALENCIA 

Mercedes-AMG was the brand to beat in qualifying at Circuit Ricardo Tormo Valencia after earning five pole positions from a possible six, but it will be the #38 JOTA McLaren that leads the field away for Sunday’s first Sprint Cup contest thanks to a blistering lap from Ben Barnicoat. 

BMW JUNIOR TEAM RACES TO THE PODIUM AT NLS 8

In beautiful late summer weather, the BMW Junior Team finished round eight of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER) on the podium. After four hours of racing, Neil Verhagen (USA), Dan Harper (GBR) and Max Hesse (GER) crossed the finish line in third place in the # 44 BMW M6 GT3. In the end, the trio was only 14 hundredths of a second short of second place. The new BMW M4 GT3 took the chequered flag in fifth place. The #55 car was driven by Philipp Eng (AUT) and Augusto Farfus (BRA).

WEATHERTECH RACING TO START THIRD AT LONG BEACH

 Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Mathieu Jaminet (France) will start from the second row in GTLM for tomorrow’s running of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Acura Long Beach Grand Prix.

SECOND ROW START FOR MEYER SHANK RACING AT LONG BEACH

The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach (AGPLB) stages a big weekend of racing for Meyer Shank Racing’s (MSR) IMSA WeatherTech and INDYCAR SERIES programs. Dane Cameron was the first of the MSR squad to qualify for the AGPLB on Friday which will see him start fourth in the No. 60 Acura ARX-05 DPi.

ADAC GT MASTERS LOCAL FAVOURITES LOOK FORWARD TO THE DEMANDING SACHSENRING

The local boys are out to show how things are done in Saxony when they line up at their home event in the German GT Championship at the Sachsenring (1st to 3rd October). Drivers and teams from the free state are traditionally very strongly represented in the ADAC GT Masters: Corvette driver Marvin Kirchhöfer (27/Leipzig, Callaway Competition) and Lamborghini driver Maximilian Paul (21/Dresden, T3 Motorsport) are determined to give their fans every reason to celebrate on the weekend of German Unity Day. As well as the local drivers, the T3 Motorsport (Dresden) and Yaco Racing (Plauen) teams can also rely on the support of the fans: not only are spectators welcome at the Sachsenring, but they can also experience the series up close and personal in the paddock.

North America’s largest Porsche market will increase by five this weekend as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship travels to Southern California with a quintet of Porsche customer programs on the entry list. The five Porsche race cars entered in the Grand Prix of Long Beach matches the largest number of 911-based race cars to compete this season in the GTLM and GTD classes of the North American race series. The 100-minute race is tabbed for September 25 on the temporary street course through the Long Beach, California community. It marks the return of the street race after the event was put on a one-year hiatus in 2020.
