Ferrari returned to the top of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS podium in emphatic style as the Iron Lynx crew of Davide Rigon, Antonio Fuoco and Daniel Serra led home a one-two finish for the Italian marque at the Circuit Paul Ricard 1000kms.

Mike David Ortmann and Hugo Sasse overcame a grid penalty to battle through the field and score their first GT4 European Series victory of the year in a thrilling opening race at Circuit Paul Ricard.

Timo Glock is back in DTM! After only two race weekends, the ex-Formula 1 driver is making a surprising comeback. The BMW works driver will be a guest driver in the third DTM race weekend (17-19 June) at the legendary Imola Grand Prix circuit, and he will do so with the team of ex-DTM champion Roberto Ravaglia. “Racing in DTM together with Roberto Ravaglia and his team is a cool story,” the 40-year-old is looking forward to his comeback in the long-standing series.

United Autosports enter the 90th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, having contested the prestigious annual race a previous five times. The team’s racing history at Le Mans has not been without success: the notorious win in 2020; a third place finish in 2018 and a top five finish across all six races.

It’s a second-row start for the Paul Miller Racing team at the Detroit Grand Prix, with Madison Snow qualifying the No. 1 Quartz Engine Oils-backed BMW M4 GT3 in the third position for Saturday’s sprint race. 

In a dramatic turn of events at Detroit’s Belle Isle Park, Tom Blomqvist qualified the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-05 on the front row and just missed out on the pole position by less than one tenth of a second.

Porsche has set itself a big goal for the final GTE-Pro-class race at Le Mans for the 911 RSR: The works team is determined to secure a class win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 11/12 June. The endurance classic on the 13.626-kilometre Circuit des 24 Heures in the west of France will be contested for the 90th time and represents round three of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC. The Porsche GT Team will field two ca. 378 kW (515 PS) 911s. In the GTE-Am class, five customer squads campaign a total of eight 911 RSR. After careful preparation as part of the Porsche Racing Experience and two years in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), Hollywood star Michael Fassbender celebrates his Le Mans debut in the No. 93 entry. Daniel Harper is left with ‘unfinished business’ in the ADAC TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Nürburgring after unfortunately encountering early disappointment with the BMW Junior Team in the 50th anniversary running of the prestigious race (26-29 May).

The Porsche 911 GT3 R fielded by the customer team Falken Motorsports has concluded the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in the top 10. Germany’s Sven Müller and Marco Seefried as well as Frenchman Patrick Pilet and Jaxon Evans from New Zealand finished the 50th edition of the Eifel classic in ninth place with the No. 33 Porsche 911 GT3 R. The identical vehicle campaigned by Huber Motorsport driven by the quartet Lars Kern, Nico Menzel, Klaus Rader and Joachim Thyssen secured eleventh place. Despite some highlights, the race ended with bitter disappointments for Porsche’s other customer teams in the SP9 class.

Audi has won the 50th edition of the 24-hour classic at the Nürburgring: After a spectacular race with numerous overtaking maneuvers, lead changes and a dramatic finale with rain showers, Robin Frijns, Kelvin van der Linde, Dries Vanthoor and Frédéric Vervisch celebrated victory with the Audi R8 LMS from Audi Sport Team Phoenix. It is the sixth overall victory in a decade for the brand with the four rings.

The 50th edition of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (GER) represented the conclusion to the anniversary week for BMW M GmbH. However, the race debut for the BMW M4 GT3 did not go as well as hoped. The BMW M Motorsport teams showed strong pace, but both cars, from ROWE Racing and the BMW Junior Team, retired after accidents. Schubert Motorsport was in fourth position until just before the finish, only to be forced to retire due to overheating in the engine compartment. BMW M GmbH provided a spectacular support programme around the classic endurance race, which took part in front of an impressive 230,000 fans, to mark its 50th birthday – the highlight being the BMW M Race of Legends on Saturday.

The Takanokono Hotel SUZUKA GT 300km RACE, Round 3 of the 2022 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series took place at Suzuka circuit (one lap 5,807m × 52 laps) in Mie Prefecture on the afternoon of May 29 (Sun). In a rough race that saw the Safety Car brought out twice, the GT500 class winner was the No. 3 CRAFTSPORTS MOTUL Z (Katsumasa Chiyo/Mitsunori Takaboshi) took its first win in the Nissan Z GT500’s debut season. In the GT300 class race, the winner was the No. 7 Studie BMW M4 (Seiji Ara/Tsubasa Kondo).
