After multiple retirements, it was also the first success of the season for Red Bull AlphpaTauri AF Corse Ferrari, the teams’ champions of the 2021 season. Fraga is the first Brazilian DTM race winner since Augusto Farfus’s victory at Zandvoort in 2013. The birthday boy was accordingly happy: “This is the best birthday f my life! Thanks to everyone in the team, we have deserved this so much.”
The Misano World Circuit played host to a belter of a second Fanatec GT2 European Series race for round three in Italy, with the PK Carsport duo of Stienes Longin and Nicolas Saelens hanging onto outright victory by a tenth of a second from Am class winner Henry Hassid in the LP Racing Audi.

Thomas Preining has won the Saturday race during the DTM Norisring powered by BMW M event. As a result, the Austrian secured the maiden win for KÜS Team Bernhard and for Porsche in DTM. Preining won from Dennis Olsen with the SSR Performance Porsche who completed the 1-2 for the brand from Zuffenhausen. René Rast rounded out the podium by finishing third with the ABT Audi. Preining also posted the fastest race lap and scored the additional point for the Autohero Fastest Lap Award.

Rainy start of DTM Norisring powered by BMW M: on Friday, the first of three event days during the DTM summer highlight in Nuremberg, drivers completed most of their laps on a wet surface. Fastest driver of the day in DTM was Austrian Thomas Preining with the KÜS Team Bernhard Porsche, who posted a time of 49.705 seconds in the first session during which the rain wasn’t so intense yet. For the two following days, warm and sunny weather has been forecast for Norisring again. Ideal conditions, therefore, for a top-notch racing spectacular around the stone grandstand with the DTM races on Saturday and Sunday starting at 1.30pm.
