VANTHOOR/WEERTS COMPLETE WRT AUDI SWEEP AT MISANO

Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts will take an 11.5-point advantage into the 2022 Fanatec Sprint finale after completing a clean sweep of race victories at Misano.

JOULIE AND IBANEZ CAP A PERFECT GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES WEEKEND WITH SECOND VICTORY IN MISANO

NM Racing Team duo Enzo Joulié and Lluc Ibañez celebrated a clean sweep of victories at Misano, with their #15 Mercedes-AMG leading every lap of the second race to put them in the driving seat of the Silver Cup championship.

FRAGA FESTIVAL IN THE DTM AT NORISRING

On his birthday, his good fortune returned: Felipe Fraga claimed his maiden DTM race win in DTM Norisring powered by BMW M on Sunday, his 27th birthday. After multiple retirements, it was also the first success of the season for Red Bull AlphpaTauri AF Corse Ferrari, the teams’ champions of the 2021 season. Fraga is the first Brazilian DTM race winner since Augusto Farfus’s victory at Zandvoort in 2013. The birthday boy was accordingly happy: “This is the best birthday f my life! Thanks to everyone in the team, we have deserved this so much.”

SAELENS AND LONGIN HOLD ON FOR GT2 EUROPEAN SERIES RACE TWO VICTORY AT MISANO

The Misano World Circuit played host to a belter of a second Fanatec GT2 European Series race for round three in Italy, with the PK Carsport duo of Stienes Longin and Nicolas Saelens hanging onto outright victory by a tenth of a second from Am class winner Henry Hassid in the LP Racing Audi. 

PAUL MILLER RACING QUALIFIES THIRD FOR CTMP RETURN

Madison Snow stuck the No. 1 BMW M4 GT3 on the second row for the team’s return to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. 

WEATHERTECH RACING TO START FROM THE SIXTH ROW AT CTMP

WeatherTech Racing drivers Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill) and Daniel Juncadella (Spain) will start from the sixth row for tomorrow’s running of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP).

BMW M TEAM RLL QUALIFIES THIRD IN GTD PRO AT CTMP

John Edwards qualified the No. 25 BMW M Team RLL BMW M4 GT3 third in the GTD PRO class for tomorrow’s two-hour-and-forty-minute Chevrolet Grand Prix. He posted a 1:15.899- minute lap around the 2.459-mile, 10-turn Canadian Tire Motorsport Park circuit, only 0.431 seconds behind the pole-sitting No. 9 Porsche 911 GT3R. Edwards will co-drive with Connor De Phillippi tomorrow.

PLA AND BEAUBELIQUE HOLD ON FOR VICTORY IN DRAMATRIC FIRST GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES RACE AT MISANO

Akkodis ASP Team pairing Jim Pla and Jean Luc Beaubelique emerged at the front of an unpredictable opening GT4 European Series race at Misano, benefiting from a mid-race caution period that jumbled the order hugely to score the first outright victory for a Pro-Am crew this season.

PREINING WINS ACTION PARCKED DTM RACE AT NORISRING

Thomas Preining has won the Saturday race during the DTM Norisring powered by BMW M event. As a result, the Austrian secured the maiden win for KÜS Team Bernhard and for Porsche in DTM. Preining won from Dennis Olsen with the SSR Performance Porsche who completed the 1-2 for the brand from Zuffenhausen. René Rast rounded out the podium by finishing third with the ABT Audi. Preining also posted the fastest race lap and scored the additional point for the Autohero Fastest Lap Award.

GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE WIN FOR WEERTS AND VANTHOOR AT MISANO

Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts secured a comfortable victory in the first of this weekend’s Fanatec Sprint races at Misano to continue their imperious form at the Italian venue.  

MSR’S BLOMQVIST CAPTURES SECOND CONSECUTIVE IMSA TRACK RECORD POLE POSITION

Meyer Shank Racing’s (MSR) Tom Blomqvist captured his second-consecutive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship pole in two weeks, turning in a record qualifying lap in Saturday’s qualifying at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. 

FJORDBACH AND WEEDA SCORE HISTORIC GT2 EUROPEAN SERIES WIN FOR BRABHAM

Anders Fjordbach earned a place in the history books in the first Fanatec GT2 European Series race of the weekend at Misano, with a brilliant last lap pass to secure the first ever race victory for the Brabham BT63 GT2 and Brabham Automotive Factory Racing crew.

RAIN DANCES IN THE DTM AT THE NORISRING

Rainy start of DTM Norisring powered by BMW M: on Friday, the first of three event days during the DTM summer highlight in Nuremberg, drivers completed most of their laps on a wet surface. Fastest driver of the day in DTM was Austrian Thomas Preining with the KÜS Team Bernhard Porsche, who posted a time of 49.705 seconds in the first session during which the rain wasn’t so intense yet. For the two following days, warm and sunny weather has been forecast for Norisring again. Ideal conditions, therefore, for a top-notch racing spectacular around the stone grandstand with the DTM races on Saturday and Sunday starting at 1.30pm.

WHELEN ENGINEERING RACING CADILLAC RETURNS TO CTMP AFTER TWO-YEAR IMSA HIATUS

Whelen Engineering drivers Pipo Derani (Brazil), Olivier Pla (France) and the No. 31 Cadillac will return to Canadian Tire Motorsports Park July 1-3 for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Chevrolet Grand Prix. This weekend’s race marks the first time the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship has competed in Canada since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

BMW M TEAM RLL LOSES SAHLEN’S SIX HOURS OF THE GLEN AFTER DRIVE TIME VIOLATION

The No. 25 BMW M Team RLL BMW M4 GT3, driven by Connor De Phillippi, John Edwards, and Augusto Farfus, seemingly won today’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, the fifth round of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. After an audit of drive time, it was found that the third driver, John Edwards, did not meet the (adjusted) one-hour-and-17-minute minimum and the car was moved to the rear of the field.
