WEATHERTECH RACING READY FOR DETROIT STREET FIGHT

WeatherTech Racing drivers Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Toni Vilander (Kankaanpää, Finland) are ready for a street fight in the Motor City as they head to the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix to run May 31 – June 1.

Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup star Alex Au took victory for the Audi R8 LMS GT4 in the first race of the Greater Bay Area GT Cup season. The Grid Motorsport entry dominated the first of two 15-lap races on the 2.824km Guangdong International Circuit, beating seven other marques in tricky, wet conditions. An incident in race two saw Au collide with a competitor whilst leading after a front row start, eventually crossing the line in fourth.

AU TOM’S LC500 WINS SUPER GT FROM POLE POSITION AT SUZUKA

The SUZUKA GT 300km RACE, Round 3 of the 2019 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, was held at the Suzuka Circuit (one lap 5.807m × 52 laps) in Mie Prefecture on May 26. In the GT500 class, the No. 36 au TOM’S LC500 (Kazuki Nakajima/Yuhi Sekiguchi) went from pole position to take its first win of the season. In the GT300 class, the No. 96 K-tunes RC F GT3 (Morio Nitta/Sena Sakaguchi) continued its winning streak at Suzuka from last year, giving it its second win of the season.
