A provisional entry list comprising 30 GT3 cars has been revealed by Kyalami 9 Hour organisers ahead of Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli’s season finale in South Africa on November 21-23.
Porsche heads to round two of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Fuji (Japan) as the leader of all GTE-Pro classifications. After claiming a one-two result at the season-opener from Silverstone (Great Britain), the successful works squad is aiming to again finish on the podium with the two Porsche 911 RSR racers. In the GTE-Am category, the customer teams Project 1, Gulf Racing and Dempsey Proton Racing field a total of five Porsche 911 RSR in last year’s spec.

Following the title win by Patric Niederhauser (27, CH) and Kelvin van der Linde (23, ZA, both HCB-Rutronik Racing) in the drivers’ classification earlier, HCB-Rutronik Racing also clinched victory in Sunday’s race at the Sachsenring and with it, the team championship title. As a result, the outfit from Germany’s south-west achieved the double to round off their first season in the Super Sports Car League. “What an amazing season,” said Team Principal, Fabian Plentz. “The team really deserve this title. They’ve worked incredibly hard to achieve success.”
United Autosports will contest the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship this weekend as the team prepare to race at Fuji Speedway, Japan.
Although the outcome of the ADAC GT Masters drivers’ championship had already been decided at the Hockenheimring, there was still plenty at stake on the last weekend of the season at the Sachsenring. 25,000 spectators came through the gates to witness a racing spectacular in which several contenders would be battling it out for the team title. Despite the customary heroic endeavours of the entire crew and the two driver pairings Mirko Bortolotti and Christian Engelhart, Franck Perera and Rolf Ineichen, Orange1 by GRT Grasser fell agonisingly short of winning the team championship. Meanwhile, in the drivers’ classification, Bortolotti and Engelhart clinched the runner-up spot after two intense and thrilling races. Perera and Ineichen finished the campaign in tenth place. The duo of Michele Beretta and Marco Mapelli, who were not present this weekend, took P18 in the drivers’ championship.
Cetilar Racing team is all set for the second round of the FIA WEC Championship, scheduled this weekend (4th/5th/6th October) at the historical Fuji circuit. After making their debut taking a sixth-place finish in the LMP2 class at Silverstone, Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi – sharing the AF Corse-powered Dallara #47 – are ready for the first of the Asian races.
