United Autosports head to Monza, Italy this weekend (9-11 October) for the penultimate round of the European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup.

The completion of last week’s Total 24 Hours of Spa test days (29/30 September) launched the final phase of preparations for the 2020 running of the Belgian endurance classic. 

Meyer Shank Racing drivers Mario Farnbacher and Matt McMurry will make their debut at the inaugural race on Saturday at the 2.32-mile Charlotte ROVAL 8:00pm ET.

20 years ago IMSA held its only race to-date at the Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) with Porsche holding nearly half the starting spots. Since that time much has changed in the sport and at the Concord, North Carolina track. It will all come back together on Saturday October 10 when three Porsche-built race cars will challenge the Charlotte “ROVAL” for 100-minutes in the race.

The qualifying for the Takanokono Hotel FUJI GT 300km RACE, Round 5 of the 2020 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, was held at the Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture on October 3 (Sat). In the GT500 class, the pole position was taken by Fukuzumi in the No. 8 ARTA NSX-GT (Tomoki Nojiri /Nirei Fukuzumi). In the GT300 class, it was Kotaka in the No. 6 ADVICS muta MC86 Ryohei Sakaguchi/Kazuto Kotaka) that took the class pole. For both teams it was their second straight pole position at Fuji following Round 2. These two cars will start tomorrow’s race from the front position in their respective class grids at 13:30 in the afternoon.

Mercedes-AMG had the first best showing of the weekend with Maro Engel (35, Monte Carlo), who set best time in first practice for this fourth round of the ADAC GT Masters at the Sachsenring. Klaus Bachler (29, AUT, Küs Team75 Bernhard) was second while P3 went to Frédéric Vervisch (34, BEL, Team WRT) in an Audi.
