MARTIN AND ALEX BRUNDLE TEAM UP TO CONTEST E-TYPE’S 60th ANNIVERSARY RACE AT THE CLASSIC

Martin and Alex Brundle were at Silverstone yesterday (Tuesday) revving up to contest The Classic’s spectacular 60th Anniversary E-Type Challenge race at the end of this month (30 July – 1 August).

ANOTHER STRONG SHOWING FOR JACK AITKEN AS GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE HITS MISANO

Jack Aitken recorded his first double top 10 finish of the season to collect more valuable points in the third Sprint Cup round of the GT World Challenge Europe season at Misano last weekend.

THE GERMAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP STARTS ON THE DUTCH NORTH SEA COAST

Sun, sand and super sports cars: This weekend (9th to 11th July), the unique holiday atmosphere of Zandvoort awaits the German GT Championship. The ADAC GT Masters will start for the first time – even before Formula 1 – on the spectacular new layout at the Dutch circuit, which nestles in the North Sea dunes and was remodelled last year. Just short of 30 GT3 cars will be out to beat the Porsche 911 GT3 R of championship leaders Michael Ammermüller (35/Rotthalmünster) and Mathieu Jaminet (26/F, both SSR Performance). Up to 3,000 spectators per day will be able to watch the summer spectacle live at the racetrack.

LAMBORGHINI SECURES FIRST ITALIAN GT ENDURANCE VICTORY OF THE SEASON IN THE MUGELLO 3 HOURS

Lamborghini recorded its first Italian GT Championship Endurance victory in the second round of the season at Mugello, courtesy of Imperiale Racing’s Stuart Middleton, Alberto Di Folco and Andrea Amici. The trio brought their Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo home second on the road at the end of the three-hour race but were elevated to winners following a pit-stop infringement penalty for the car ahead. The triumph also means that Middleton, Di Folco and Amici moved into the lead of the championship standings heading into the next round of the Endurance campaign at Vallelunga in September.

MIXED MISANO BRINGS TOP 15 BEST FOR HUTCHISON AND WINKELHOCK

Finlay Hutchison and Markus Winkelhock encountered a mixed first outing in the 2021 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Sprint Cup at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli over the weekend, delivering two determined race performances despite a lack of overall pace.

Charles Weerts and Dries Vanthoor took a significant step towards defending their Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Sprint Cup drivers’ title with a second consecutive triumph at Misano.

WILKINSON DELIVERS MEGA DRIVE IN MISANO SPRINT CUP

Ollie Wilkinson put in an outstanding Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS performance in the JOTA McLaren 720S GT3 at Misano this weekend. A blistering five-place charge from 12th to seventh paved the way for team-mate Ben Barnicoat to threaten for Sprint Cup podium honours on Saturday, whilst eighth against the world-class competition on Sunday put more points on the board. 

STRONG WEEKEND FOR MERCEDES-AMG MOTORSPORT IN GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport celebrated numerous podium results in the third round of the Sprint Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe at Misano in Italy. In the first of the two races, Maro Engel (GER) and Luca Stolz (GER) drove the #6 Mercedes-AMG GT3 run by Mercedes-AMG Team Toksport WRT to second place. In the second race, Raffaele Marciello (ITA) and Timur Boguslavskiy (RUS) did likewise with the #88 Mercedes-AMG GT3 run by Mercedes-AMG Team AKKA ASP. Good achievements in the classes rounded out the successful weekend. AKKA ASP Team drivers Jim Pla (Frankreich) and Konstantin Tereschenko (RUS) claimed Silver Cup honours on Saturday. Toksport WRT pairing Juuso Puhakka (FIN) and Oscar Tunjo (COL) finished third in this class in both races. SPS automotive performance scored a third and a second place in the Silver Cup with the #20 Mercedes-AMG GT3.

FANS WELCOME AT THE ADAC GT MASTERS BEACH PARTY IN ZANDVOORT

The ADAC GT Masters beach party at the CM.com Circuit Zandvoort will go ahead with fans: spectators are welcome to the third race weekend of the German GT Championship (9th to 11th July), which takes place at the recently-remodelled Formula 1 circuit in Zandvoort. Up to 3,000 spectators per day can follow the ADAC GT Masters live at the racetrack in the Netherlands.

AUDI RIVALS SHARE THE GT2 EUROPEAN SERIES SPOILS, TARGET LAMBORGHINI TAKES DOUBLE VICTORY AT MISANO

High Class Racing and PK Carsport by Heinz’s Audis scored a victory apiece in the Fanatec GT2 European Series at Misano this weekend (2-3 July) to ignite their Pro-Am title fight, whilst Target Racing’s Lamborghini also won on debut.

WILD RACE LEADS TO FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT WATKINS GLEN FOR CARBAHN WITH PEREGRINE RACING

The No. 39 Audi R8 GT3 LMS began its weekend on a high note with a third-place qualifying lap by driver Richard Heistand. With limited track time for this event Engineer and Strategist Steve Dinan was required to work his magic to provide the drivers with a perfectly balanced car. As always, Dinan delivered, presenting the drivers with a fast car in all conditions, even in the erratic rain.

Gilbert/Korthoff Motorsports made its debut in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD competition on Friday, earning plenty of hard-earned knowledge with a seventh-place finish in Friday evening’s WeatherTech 240 at Watkins Glen International.

But Turn 1, Lap 1 contact prevented the team from racing forward after sustaining damage as the team finished the two-hour, 40-minute race sixth.
