Porsche Carrera Cup GB – the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK – arrived at Brands Hatch with the promise of fireworks between double champion 2015 / 2016 Dan Cammish (Redline Racing) and reigning champion – Porsche GB 2020 / 2021 Junior – Harry King (Team Parker Racing). There was little to separate the pair throughout the weekend, Junior King emerged from Friday Practice ahead but Cammish had plenty of speed in hand, as did several other Pro category hopefuls including Lorcan Hanafin (JTR), Will Martin (Richardson Racing) and Rookie Kiern Jewiss (Team Parker Racing).

BMW Team RLL will start from the second row of the GTLM class in tomorrow’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen. Connor De Phillippi qualified the No. 25 MOTUL BMW M8 GTE third with a quick lap of 1:41.357-minutes around the 3.4-mile, 11-turn Watkins Glen International – 0.413 seconds in arrears of the polesitting No. 3 Corvette. John Edwards qualified fourth with a 1:41.932-minute lap in the No. 24 MOTUL BMW M3 GTE.
The Porsche customer team Wright Motorsports has secured an excellent starting position in the qualifying for the six-hour race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in Watkins Glen. American Trent Hindman planted his No. 16 Porsche 911 GT3 R on the second grid spot of the GTD class. For the young amateur driver, this was the first qualifying session at the wheel of the 911 built to comply with the FIA GT3 regulations. At round five of the season, the identical 500+PS vehicles fielded by Pfaff Motorsports and Hardpoint EBM take up the GTD class from positions 9 and 13. In the GTLM category, the American Cooper MacNeil qualified WeatherTech Racing’s Porsche 911 RSR on position five.
After four extremely exciting hours of racing, a dream came true for the BMW Junior Team, its first overall victory on the Nordschleife with the BMW M6 GT3. Neil Verhagen (USA), Max Hesse (GER) and Dan Harper (GBR) won race four of the 2021 Nürburgring Endurance Series. A brilliant performance saw them prevail against stiff opposition, making them the youngest team in the history of endurances races to win at the Nürburgring (GER).
The race debut of the BMW M4 GT3 has had to be postponed. The plan was for the new race car to take part in round four of the 2021 Nürburgring Endurance Series, on Saturday on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER), but this has had to be cancelled at short notice. The car suffered damage in a crash during the closing stages of the test and set-up session on Friday evening and could not be repaired overnight. BMW M Motorsport is currently analysing the cause of the crash in detail.
The Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Sprint Cup will move into the second half of its season next weekend (2–4 July) when 29 cars tackle a pair of 60-minute races at Misano.
The Paul Miller Racing IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship team is ready to tackle this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, the third of four Michelin Endurance Cup rounds, with an expanded three-driver lineup.
Drivers Jimmie Johnson (Mooresville, N.C.), Simon Pagenaud (France) and Kamui Kobayashi (Japan) return to action in the No. 48 Ally Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R for this weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen at Watkins Glen International.
Last weekend for the BRSCC race weekend at Silverstone the weather turned a lot colder again, with spots of rain on Sunday turning in to drizzle. As well as the Mazda’s shown here, I also took pictures of the Fun Cup, which I’ve yet to go through and see what I have. Hopefully there will be enough to do a photo-shoot of them next week. The contenders for this year’s TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa have completed two days of extensive running to kick off the final phase of preparations for the twice-around-the-clock race (29 July–1 August).

Three months have passed since Era Motorsport finished second at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, and since then, the LMP2 sports car racing team has made their European Le Mans Series debut, already completing the first three races of the season. This week, the Indianapolis-based team travels to Watkins Glen, New York for the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
