ASTON MARTIN RACING LICENSES MSAA AS EXCLUSIVE ASIAN DISTRIBUTOR FOR VANTAGE GT3 AND GT4 RACE CARS

Aston Martin has selected Motorsports Services AMR Asia Limited (MSAA) to become its exclusive distributor of all variants of Vantage GT race cars, parts and technical support for China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and the south-east Asian region.

RUTRONIK RACING COMPLETES ITS ADAC GT MASTERS LINE-UP

Rutronik Racing is the first racing team in the ADAC GT Masters to announce its full driver line-up for 2021. In Dennis Marschall (24/Eggenstein) and newcomer Kim-Luis Schramm (23/Meuspath), the team has now confirmed the two men who will share the driving duties in its second Audi R8 LMS in the German GT Championship. The ADAC GT Masters kicks off its 15th season from 14th to 16th May in Oschersleben.

JMF MOTORSPORTS SIGNS MICHAI STEPHENS AND MARCO KACIC

JMF Motorsports is a newly formed organisation based out of Buttonwillow, California.  Founded by long time motorsport enthusiast John Farrow, they will field a Mercedes-AMG GT4 for two drivers starting in the NASA Western Endurance Racing Championship for 2021, and moving to SRO later in the year.  

1AIM VILLORBA CORSE ENTERS 2021 EUROPEAN LE MANS SERIES

Scuderia Villorba Corse gets back to prototype racing and ACO / Le Mans events, among which the Italian team claims three participations in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The squad led by Raimondo Amadio unveils the first step of their renewed course in endurance racing taking part in the 2021 European Le Mans Series under the 1AIM Villorba Corse brand. This new racing program is born in the wake of the project started in 2019 with the ACE1 brand, which made its debut in the ELMS round of Barcelona and then participated in the entire Asian Le Mans Series taking a victory at the 4 Hours of Buriram (Thailand) in February 2020, exactly one year ago.

United Autosports are delighted to confirm that Jonathan Aberdein will join their LMP2 team for the 2021 European Le Mans Series.

MERCEDES-AMG MOTORSPORT EXPANDS ITS INTERNATIONAL GT INVOLVEMENT

Mercedes-AMG Motorsport keeps pushing ahead with the expansion of its international customer sports programme and will be present in the DTM in 2021. In the reframed sprint series that will also be held with cars to GT3 regulations from this season, starting off at Monza in mid-June, AMG intends to add to its successful DTM history with eleven drivers’ titles, 14 teams’ titles and seven manufacturers’ titles. The current planning involves the participation of multiple Customer Racing Teams to compete for points with their Mercedes-AMG GT3s.

United Autosports are delighted to confirm that Nico Jamin will join their LMP2 team for the 2021 European Le Mans Series and the Le Mans 24 Hours.

PR1/MATHIASEN MOTORSPORTS SHOWS SPEED AND PROMISE IN AN OTHERWISE CHALLENGING ROLEX 24 HOURS OF DAYTONA

After a very promising start the of the 24 Hours of Daytona, which had Ben Keating on the #52 Wynns / Rain-X / Four Horsemen / Max Connect / Client Command / Valkyrie.ai AI Oreca 07 LMP2 starting from the pole position, PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports had to finally retire 40 minutes before the end of the 24 hour race. The retirement came after an impressive set of comebacks after the #52 suffered both mechanical issues and repairs from contact during the race. The PR1/Mathiasen crew displayed impressive perseverance after several garage fixes.

W&D RACING TEAM RETURNS TO GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES

W&D Racing Team makes its return to the international scenario. After a 2020 season spent in the Italian GT Sprint – when Paolo Meloni was one of the GT4 Am frontrunners to finish third in the standings and claiming one victory, two second and four third positions – the San Marino-based squad is set to re-enter the GT4 European Series.

The Paul Miller Racing team backed up their 2020 Rolex 24 victory with a third place finish in yesterday’s 2021 edition of the twice-round-the-clock classic. Madison Snow, Bryan Sellers, Corey Lewis and Andrea Caldarelli’s podium will bolster the team’s quest to repeat as Michelin Endurance Cup champions, and in their fight for the overall title.

 Performance Tech Motorsports finished sixth in the Rolex 24 At Daytona following a remarkable comeback after an early on-track incident sidelined the No.38 Performance Tech Motorsports LMP3.

PODIUM FINISH FOR BMW TEAM RLL AT THE ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA

BMW Team RLL reached the podium in the GTLM class at the 59th edition of the Rolex 24 at Daytona (USA). After 24 hours of racing at Daytona International Speedway, the #24 MOTUL BMW M8 GTE secured third place. The #25 car completed the classic race in the US state of Florida in fifth position. The Rolex 24 at Daytona represented the first real major highlight of the GT endurance racing season for BMW Motorsport.

MERCEDES-AMG MOTORSPORT WITH HISTORIC 1-2 IN THE DAYTONA 24-HOURS

Mercedes-AMG has a brilliant start of the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. In the Rolex 24 At Daytona, the performance and sports car brand from Affalterbach scores a sensational 1-2 in the GTD class. Indy Dontje (NED), Philip Ellis (SUI), Maro Engel (GER) and Russell Ward (USA) secure first place with the #57 Mercedes-AMG GT3 run by Winward Racing. Second place at Daytona International Speedway goes to Mikaël Grenier (CAN), Kenny Habul (AUS), Raffaele Marciello (ITA) and Luca Stolz (GER) in the #75 SunEnergy1 Racing car. The double success also marks the maiden victory by a Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Team in the race in Florida with its long tradition. In previous years, Mercedes-AMG Motorsport already won the Michelin Endurance Cup, the hard-fought endurance classification in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, twice already, but never managed to win the classic 24-hour race at Daytona so far. Ninth place in the GTD class for the #28 Alegra Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 rounds out the historic achievement.

ERA MOTORSPORT CLAIMS MAIDEN VICTORY AT ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA

Just one year after making their IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut, Era Motorsport earned their first series win at one of the most challenging sports car endurance races in North America, the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Drivers Kyle Tilley, Dwight Merriman, Ryan Dalziel, and Paul-Loup Chatin drove the No. 18 Oreca LMP2 car to victory, scoring a class win at only the team’s second attempt at the iconic event. 

WHELEN ENGINEERING FINISHES SIXTH IN ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA

Whelen Engineering drivers Felipe Nasr (Brazil), Pipo Derani (Brazil), Chase Elliott (Dawsonville, Ga.), and Mike Conway (United Kingdom) finished sixth in the 59th IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Rolex 24 At Daytona.
