STANLEY NSX-GT WINS AT MOTEGI FROM POLE POSITION

The MOTEGI GT 300km RACE, Round 4 of the 2021 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series was held on the afternoon of July 18 (Sun) at Twin Rings Motegi (one lap 4,801m x 63 laps) in Tochigi Pref. In the GT500 class, the No. 1 STANLEY NSX-GT (Naoki Yamamoto/Tadasuke Makino) came from behind after giving up the lead once to take its first win of the season. In the GT300 class, the No. 2 muta Racing Lotus MC (Hiroki Kato/ Ryohei Sakaguchi) took its first win as a new team.

CarBahn with Peregrine Racing finished in sixth place after a red flag thwarted its podium pursuit.

WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS SCORES PODIUM AT LIME ROCK PARK

Wright Motorsports braved sweltering temperatures and stifling humidity this weekend at Lime Rock Park, leaving the Northeast Grand Prix with a hefty points pull to go towards their Michelin Pilot Challenge championship endeavor. Lightning cut short the two-hour, 40-minute IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship sprint race, disappointing drivers and teams alike, eager to earn valuable championship points.

WEATHERTECH RACING FINISHES THIRD AT LIME ROCK PARK

Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Mathieu Jaminet (France) finished third in today’s running of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park. 

THIRD STRAIGHT FIA WEC POLE POSITION FOR PORSCHE

Porsche takes up round three of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) from pole position on the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. In the ca. 515 PS 911 RSR, works driver Kévin Estre from France turned the fastest qualifying lap on the high-speed circuit in 1:45.412 minutes. With this third consecutive top qualifying time, the Porsche GT Team celebrates a flawless hat-trick in the GTE-Pro category. Estre shares the car with Neel Jani from Switzerland. At the wheel of the sister car, which followed a different tyre strategy, Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) posted the third quickest time on home turf in 1:45.844 minutes. For the race, he shares the cockpit with Austria’s Richard Lietz. In the GTE-Am class, a 911 RSR fielded by the Project 1 customer team starts from P4. This event marks the first time the FIA World Endurance Championship races on the storied 5.793-kilometre racetrack just outside Milan.

DOUBLE FIA WEC FRONT ROW FOR FERRARI AT MONZA

The top two Ferraris will start from second on the grid in the LMGTE Pro and Am classes at the 6 Hours of Monza, the third round of the FIA WEC World Championship. In the Pro class, Alessandro Pier Guidi and in the Am, François Perrodo, were the fastest 488 GTEs in qualifying on the Lombard circuit.

YAMAMOTO IN THE STANLEY NSX-GT TAKES SUPER GT POLE POSITION AT MOTEGI

The qualifying for the MOTEGI GT 300km RACE, Round 4 of the 2021 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series took place at Twin Rings Motegi in Tochigi Pref. on July 17 (Sat). In the GT500 class, the No. 1 STANLEY NSX-GT (Naoki Yamamoto/Tadasuke Makino) won pole position. In the GT300 class, Yasuda in the No.11 GAINER TANAX GT-R (Katsuyuki Hiranaka/Hironobu Yasuda) won his first SUPER GT pole position.

FIFTH ON THE GRID FOR PAUL MILLER RACING AT LIME ROCK PARK

The No. 1 Total lubricants-backed Lamborghini team notched a fifth-place position on the grid for today’s Northeast Grand Prix and Lime Rock Park. 

TOYOTA GAZOO RACING MAKING MONZA PROGRESS

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing completed the first practice session for the inaugural 6 Hours of Monza, as it began its quest for a third consecutive Hypercar victory to extend the new GR010 HYBRID’s 100% winning record.

2021 IMSA CHAMPIONSHIP REACHES HALFWAY POINT AT LIME ROCK PARK

The battle for each of the 2021 IMSA Championship titles heats up this weekend at Lime Rock Park for the next rounds of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Michelin Pilot Challenge. The “Road Racing Center of the East” will host the condensed weekend, in which Wright Motorsports will enter a Porsche in each series, with both races taking place on Saturday, July 17th.

PORSCHE TEAMS BRINGS MULTIPLE WINNERS TO NORTHEAST BULLRING

Porsche customer teams come loaded with winners at the GT-only race on the road racing bullring known as Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut. The 2-hour, 40-minute Northeast Grand Prix, part of the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, will feature four Porsche race cars on July 17. All Porsche 911-based race cars are entered by privateers with three previous winners split among the 17-car field comprised solely of the GTLM and GTD classes. WeatherTech Racing will pursue the top-step of the overall podium with a Porsche 911 RSR-19 racer in GTLM class while Pfaff Motorsports, Team Hardpoint EBM and Wright Motorsports each have a single Porsche 911 GT3 R race cars carrying the German sports car manufacturer’s flag in GTD class. Porsche holds the most wins by a manufacturer at Lime Rock with 20 victories.

After a 10-day stay at the smooth and rolling Watkins Glen International, the 1.50, 7 turn, Lime Rock Park is a stark change for the drivers and crew. Fortunately, the Audi R8 chassis thrives on short and fast tracks, making Lime Rock Park its ideal circuit.

PORSCHE AIMS TO RECLAIM ITS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD IN MONZA

The Porsche works team is well prepared as it travels to round three of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in Monza. The high-speed circuit in Italy hosts the world endurance series for the first time. At the six-hour race on July 18, the squad of the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer has a clear goal: the Porsche GT team aims to recapture the top spot of the world championship rankings which it lost at the previous race in Portugal. In the GTE-Pro class for factory teams, Porsche fields two ca. 515 PS 911 RSR. In the GTE-Am category, the customer teams Project 1, Dempsey-Proton Racing and GR Racing campaign a total of five 911 racers.
