Portuguese driver Tiago Monteiro is to come and support Stéphane Lémeret in the Boutsen Ginion team’s Honda. A friendly participation and first-rate back-up to enliven the first race in this new championship. Tiago Monteiro began the WTCC season in real style with a win and two second places in just four races. The Castrol Honda driver currently heads the world championship.
The TCR Benelux meeting in Spa on 20 and 21 May will provide an opportunity for the Belgian audience to see him in action. The former Formula 1 driver is particularly familiar with the Ardennes circuit, a course that he likes and on which he raced most recently two years ago behind the wheel of a Civic WTCC. This time he will be driving a Civic TCR with a single aim – victory!
The car driven by Tiago Monteiro and Stéphane Lémeret will bear the traditional colours of the Boutsen Ginion team: black and orange livery displaying on the doors the number 18, Tiago Monteiro’s lucky number!
