Bowlin and Pegram set to compete in PWC event this weekend
With the start of the 2016 competition season on the horizon, M1 GT Racing is primed and ready to compete in the North American based Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) and Sprint-X programs.
With the first event only days away, all drivers have been confirmed for the Audi Sport customer racing (AScr) program as Walt Bowlin and Larry Pegram will be behind the wheel of the M1 GT Racing Audi R8 LMS while Guy Cosmo will provide driver coaching duties and be available as a substitute driver should the need arise at the Circuit of the Americas over the March 3-6 weekend.
“We are happy that the wheel-to-wheel competition season is finally upon us,” explained M1 GT Racing Technical Director Remi Lanteigne. “We have completed miles and miles of testing at NOLA Motorsports Park and Sebring International Raceway and all three of our drivers have become accustom to the the 2016 Audi R8 LMS. With their natural skills and speed they have each pushed one another to be at their absolute best with each and every test lap.”
Tuesday evening saw M1 GT Racing perform one of their many planned promotional events away from the track as their Audi R8 LMS was on display at the Audi South Austin dealership in Austin, Texas. Promoting the Audi brand and the Pirelli World Challenge program, the ground shaking R8 LMS was on display for dealership customers and drivers were in attendance to sign autographs for fans.
Lanteigne continued, “Not only do we look to perform on the track, we also try to support the Audi brand and our series of competition in whatever way possible. Our promotional program began last night at the Audi South Austin dealership and it was a great success.”
Joining M1 GT Racing on the partner’s side of the program, the team welcomes Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery, Surgery Centers of America, Spyder and the continued support from Audi Sport customer racing.
