PREPARATION OF THE NEW BMW iFE.18 FORMULA E ENTERS THE NEXT PHASE

TechLab for BMW iNEXT”: This tag-line was prominently featured on the new BMW i Motorsport race car for the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. This car completed its historic first appearance on the BMW and MINI Driving Academy site in Maisach, near Munich (GER). It was powered by the completely new BMW drivetrain, which was created specifically for the special challenges of motor racing. It was the result of close collaboration between engineers from BMW i production development and from BMW Motorsport. BMW works driver Tom Blomqvist (GBR) was behind the wheel of the first fully-electric racing car in the history of the BMW Group.

TWO CAR KTM ASSAULT ON THE BEND AND AUSTRALIAN GT

After battling at the front of the GT4 field during the opening round of the Australian GT Championship on the streets of Melbourne as part of the Australian Grand Prix weekend, M-Motorsport returns for the second round of the season with a two-car assault on the opening endurance round with Glen Wood, David Crampton and Trent Harrison returning to the team for AGT’s maiden event at the new ‘The Bend Motorsport Park’ in South Australia.

PORSCHE TARGETS SECOND WIN OF THE IMSA SEASON

Following the season-opening rounds at the long distance classics of Daytona and Sebring in Florida, the IMSA SportsCar Championship now heads to California. Coming up on April 14 is the 100-minute event at Long Beach, the shortest race of the year. On the 3.167-kilometre street circuit, the Porsche GT Team fields two Porsche 911 RSR racers against three other automobile manufacturers in the strongly represented GTLM class.
