As the 2019 GT season approaches, plans that will see the McLaren 720S GT3 make its debut on Japanese soil as part of a multi-championship effort have now been confirmed. The latest GT3 challenger from McLaren Automotive will run under the banner of McLaren Customer Racing Japan, with two single-car entries confirmed for the Super GT300 and Super Taikyu championships. The team has also confirmed that both cars will contest round 4 of the 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge the Suzuka 10 Hours.
The new McLaren 720S GT3 race car will campaign in Europe this season with Teo Martín Motorsport, the Spanish team now confirmed as the latest customer team to join the McLaren Customer Racing family. As part of a multi-car deal, Teo Martín Motorsport is the first team in Europe to announce plans to run the new 720S GT3, the first race car to be designed and built in-house by McLaren Automotive Customer Racing.
McLaren Automotive is to expand its race-winning activities in GT racing with a number of new initiatives. Headlining these is the announcement that a new 720S GT3 race car will join the successful 570S GT4, and this new model will begin testing next year for launch with customer teams in 2019.
