After sealing a historic victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last month, Aston Martin Racing returns to FIA World Endurance Championship duty this weekend for the 6 Hours of Nürburgring.
After claiming the maximum haul of 51 points in Le Mans with pole position and the race win for the #97 V8 Vantage GTE, the trio of Darren Turner (GB), Jonny Adam (GB) and Daniel Serra (BR) sit 2nd in the GT FIA World Endurance Driver’s Championship, with a total of 63 points; 11 adrift of the championship leaders.
With a further six rounds left of the 2017 season, it’s all to play for in each of the other championships too.
The team remain 3rd and just 22 points behind the leaders in the GT FIA World Endurance Championship for manufacturers.
In GTE AM, the trio of Mathias Lauda (A), Paul Dalla Lana (C) and Pedro Lamy (P) will continue their championship big as they sit just 6 points behind the championship leaders.
While the #97 driver line-up remains unchanged, the #95 V8 Vantage GTE will be reduced to the two-driver pairing of Danes Marco Sørensen and Nicki Thiim for the remainder of the 2017 season.
The team understand consistent points will be key to a successful championship bid once they reach Bahrain in November.

The Nürburgring proved a strong track for us last year with Nicki and Marco taking pole position and a podium that weekend. We’ll be hoping to get all three cars onto both the Pro and Am podiums this weekend, but it goes without saying that a DNF for any of our cars is not an option to keep our championship campaigns on track”.
The 6 Hours of Nürburgring begins at 13:00 local time on Sunday 16 July.
