After a challenging last Super GT round at Fuji International Speedway, Nissan’s four GT-R NISMO GT500s have their sights set on redemption this weekend at Sportsland Sugo.

Jann Mardenborough and Daiki Sasaki dominated the race and looked set for victory at Fuji until being forced to pit with an issue with only 28 laps remaining.

Sasaki has a win to his credit at Sugo in 2016 and is keen to repeat that performance while Mardenborough has his sights set on ending his recent run of misfortune which has twice robbed him of a podium or better in the past twelve months.

Ronnie Quintarelli and Tsugio Matsuda are keen to bounce back into championship contention with three rounds remaining. Quintarelli won here in 2011 but Matsuda – the record holder for the most wins in series history – has never won in Super GT at Sugo.

Mitsunori Takeboshi and JP de Oliviera will be looking for another strong points haul after finishing sixth at Fuji.

Satoshi Motoyama and Katsumasa Chiyo began the year with three-consecutive points finishes but are seeking a return to the points positions after two difficult races.

Opened in 1975, Sportsland Sugo is one of Japan’s largest motorsports facilities with 2.1 million square meters of facilities including a motocross course, trials course, go-kart track and the 3.737km circuit Super GT will race on this Sunday.

This weekend’s Super GT action will again be shown live on NISMO.com and NISMO.tv.
