The Second race of the season in the VLN Endurance Championship Nürburgring, first victory of the season for the BMW M6 GT3 at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER): Jesse Krohn (FIN) and Connor De Phillippi (USA) won the “43rd DMV 4-Stunden-Rennen”. After 27 laps, they had an advantage of around nine seconds in the #99 ROWE Racing BMW M6 GT3. At the same time, it was ROWE Racing’s first win with the BMW M6 GT3 at the Nürburgring.
De Phillippi started the race from seventh place on the grid. In perfect conditions, with sun and spring-like temperatures, he and team-mate Krohn drove a trouble-free race. In the final hour, Krohn took the lead and brought the BMW M6 GT3 home in first place.
The Walkenhorst Motorsport team also secured a top-ten result. Jonathan Hirschi (SUI), Hunter Abbott (GBR) and Christian Krognes (NOR) finished tenth overall in the #35 BMW M6 GT3. In addition, their team-mates Henry Walkenhorst, Rudi Adams and Andreas Ziegler (all GER) were first in the SP9 Masters standings. A class win also went to Heiko Eichenberg (GER) and Yannick Mettler (SUI) in the Team 828 Racing by Sorg Rennsport BMW M4 GT4 in the SP10 class. In the V4 class, Christopher Rink, Danny Brink and Phillipp Leisen (all GER) were victorious in the Pixum Team Adrenalin Motorsport BMW 325i. Victory in the SP6 class went to Martin Kroll, Michael Kroll, Chantal Kroll and Roland Eggimann (all SUI) in the Hofor-Racing BMW M3 GTR. Marco Petry, Michael Mönch and Jan von Kiedrowski (all GER) secured the class win in the SP5 category in their BMW 325i. A further class win was achieved by BMW 325 drivers Olli Kangas (FIN) and Robert Pentén (SWE) in the SP4 class.
In the BMW M235i Racing Cup class David Griessner (AUT) and Yannick Fübrich (GER) celebrated the win, repeating their feat of two weeks ago at the season opener. The pairing took to the track in the #650 car by Pixum Team Adrenalin Motorsport. Second place went to Tristan Viidas (EST) of team Securtal Sorg Rennsport. Third place was secured by Tobias Müller, Nico Otto and Lars Peucker (all GER) in the Scheid – Honert Motorsport team’s #666 BMW M235i Racing.
