Four weeks separate us from the start of the 2017 Total 24 Hours of Spa race week. Teams and drivers are finalising their preparations for the highlight of the Blancpain GT Series and Intercontinental GT Challenge. On Tuesday July 4th they will test their impressive machinery on the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit, during the Official Test Day of the Total 24 Hours of Spa.
Well over 60 cars will take to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit during the eight hours of scheduled track time on Tuesday. Not only will the regular competitors of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup be present, but also some teams and drivers eager to compete in what arguably is the greatest GT3 race on the motorsports planet.
Among them the eagerly awaited #00 Good Smile Racing & Team UKYO Mercedes-AMG, with former F1-driver Kamui Kobayashi at its wheel. German squad Bentley Team ABT will get its first taste of the Blancpain GT Series as well, as does the KÜS Team75 Motorsport Bernhard team. They have former Total 24 Hours of Spa-winner Laurens Vanthoor at the wheel of their Porsche 991 GT3R.
Add to that some regular teams from the British GT Championship preparing their next event in Spa and you will agree that the Official Test Day is an excellent opportunity to review the troops for the upcoming Total 24 Hours of Spa. The Official Test Day will see track action from 9.00 to 12.00, and from 13.00 to 18.00. Entrance for the public is absolutely free.
