The “B-Quik Driver Selection Programme 2018” has come to a successful conclusion after three intensive days at Bira Circuit, Pattaya, which followed on from a general application stage earlier this year and then the second phase that focused on karting which took place last month.
We have chosen four winners who will now join B-Quik Racing Co. Ltd. TM (“B-Quik Racing”) with two set to race in the Toyota Motorsport “Vios Cup” one make race series this season while the other two will compete in our Honda Brios in Thailand Super Series’ “Super Eco” category.
The application stage for the 2018 programme was open to all technical staff at B-Quik Co. Ltd. TM (“B-Quik”) and eventually after an assessment process eighty-three were chosen to go forward.
During the first event, held at IMPACT Speed Park which was focused on karting as well as classroom work, the intake was reduced to twelve finalists.
That selection process was carried out by experienced instructors from Racing Spirit’s “TSS Racing Academy” (TRA) and the final stage, which has just taken place at Bira International Circuit, saw the twelve graduating through the Racing School. The three days saw a mix of classroom work and track learning with the finalists surprising everyone with the lap times they were able to post up against the clock on the final day.
The TRA instructors reported that they were very impressed by the application, determination and skills on show and that each finalist was very close to each other across all metrics meaning they had a tough call to make after a lot of consideration to narrow it down to the final four to go through to the racing stage.
The four winners were Adisak Tangphunjaroen (B-Quik Ramintra Km 10, Bangkok), Jerasak Kongplab (B-Quik Pattanakarn, Bangkok), Pongtanu Kamsai (B-Quik Tesco Lotus Thalang, Phuket) and Attapol Kaewarsa (B-Quik Chonburi).
So big congratulations to the four winners and big congratulations to everyone who took part. It was really, really close, the standard was sky high, the skills shown on track being matched by superb classroom work.
Everyone was professional, punctual, focused and ambitious, everyone applied themselves 100%, did B-Quik proud and showed just what we are and what stand for. Big congratulations from the entire Company not just to the four winners but to all twelve finalists.
A big thank you also to the Racing Spirit instructors drawn from the TRA. They had a really tough job to evaluate everyone and choose the winners. They did wonders to bring everyone on so far in just a couple of days on the racetrack to a point where all the finalists were setting excellent laps times!
