Onroak Automotive’s sporting year will kick off this coming weekend at the Daytona circuit. The French constructor will be present in force in Florida at the ROAR BEFORE THE ROLEX 24, the official test session for the mythical Daytona 24 Hours. Five cars from its Le Mans workshops are entered in the blue-riband prototype category and will take part in practice for the race which be held on 27 – 28 January. On Saturday no fewer than 11 Ligier JS P3s will line up at the start of the first round of the 2018 IMSA Prototype Challenge.
IMSA WEATHERTECH SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP
Tequila Patron ESM, winner of the 2016 event with the Ligier JS P2, is running two Nissan DPis. United Autosports will make their debut on the Daytona circuit with two Ligier JS P217s, and ASF / PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports (result of a merger between AFS Racing and PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports) has entered a Ligier JS P217.
The five cars on the official entry list all have very strong driver line-ups:

#52 Ligier JS P217 – ASF / PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports: Sebastian Saavedra, Gustavo Yacaman, Roberto Gonzalez
IMSA PROTOTYPE CHALLENGE
In addition to the WeatherTech Championship test session, Daytona will host the first round of the 2018 IMSA Prototype Challenge. Now in its second year, the series has attracted a field of 25 cars that includes 11 Ligier JS P3s among the 13 LM P3s confirming the success of the French sports prototype in North America.
The main innovation this season is the series’ new format – a single race lasting 1h45mn.
24H PROTO SERIES – DUBAI 3x3H
In addition, this weekend will see Ligier JS P3s racing in a 3 x 3-hour event on the Dubai circuit. The Graff, Speedworks Motorsport and Spirit of Race teams will fly the Onroak Automotive colours.
