Jay Howard’s Motorsports Driver Development program is partnering with NOLA Motorsports Park to offer a driving school and an opportunity to train with IndyCar driver Jay Howard.

Howard will make NOLA Motorsports Park, located just outside New Orleans in Avondale,Louisiana, his new home track. The park will offer official test days and private rentals of the facility for individuals and teams in addition to the JHMDD driving school.

“I am very excited to bring my expertise to NOLA Motorsports Park and offer a driving school,” Howard said. “NOLA Motorsports Park is one of the country’s premier karting tracks, and I can’t wait to help drivers hone their skills on a fun and challenging track.”

Official test days will be open to anyone and will use the US Open track layout every Wednesday leading up to the US Open. The first Wednesday test will begin on March 23rd and run weekly.

Information on the Wednesday test days are:
– Track opening hours 9am-6:30pm (or until loss of daylight).
– US Open competitors/kart owners, open practice from 9am-3pm.
– Sessions will commence from 3pm-6:30pm, sharing the track with Arrive & Drive and GT Max.
– GT Max sessions from 3pm-6:30pm will be fifteen-minute session rotation every hour.
– Arrive & Drive sessions from 3pm-6:30pm will be fifteen-minute session rotation every hour.
– Recap on 3pm-6:30pm time frame; Fifteen minutes for GT Max, fifteen minutes for Arrive & Drive, US Open/kart owners will have a 25 minute session, all on rotation every hour until close.

There will also be a club race leading up to the US Open on April 16th that will give competitors the chance to get some valuable seat time in prior to the big event.

Those who participate in JHMDD’s driving school will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one driver coaching from Jay Howard. The school also offers video analysis, data acquisition, lead-and-follow opportunities and the chance to learn racecraft from a professional open wheel driver.
