Perfect 10 for deJong After iRacing #DIRTNight Triumph in Phoenix

For ten weeks, the world’s top iRacers have tried to stop real-world Red Bull Global Rallycross Supercar driver Mitchell deJong on #DIRTNight.
For ten weeks, they’ve admitted defeat.
Once again, deJong was nearly untouchable on Friday night, as he completed his second perfect tour of the five-track circuit with an eight-second victory over Adam Elby in Phoenix. Not far behind Elby, #DIRTNight regular Fabian Menetrey scored his first rallycross podium on a RaceSpot TV broadcast with third place.

For the fourth time in 10 weeks, deJong and Steliyan Chepilevski swept Heat 1 and Heat 2, while Carl E. Jansson claimed the Consolation race. But the running order began to change immediately as multiple drivers spun in sync as they left the oval infield, with Menetrey and Connor Parise among the drivers who would fall to the back of the pack. Just two turns later, Chepilevski found himself backwards as well after contact into the rhythm section.
While many Red Bull GRC finals on iRacing prove to be thrilling, multiple dramatic rollovers made the latest Phoenix final a race to remember. On the second lap, Parise clipped a tire barrier and slammed the outside wall with enough force to roll his ride over. He’d continue, but Jake Hewlett wasn’t so lucky on the sixth lap; chasing Jansson for third, he landed on his podium rival after taking the jump and rolled seven times before coming to rest off of the racing line.
