JACK WILLIAM MILLER IMPRESSES IN MILLER VINATIERI LEGUIZAMON F4 TEAM DEBUT
Descending on the famed Homestead-Miami Speedway for the first event weekend of the United States F4 Championship, 13-year-old teenage sensation Jack William Miller impressed all in his series debut. Competing under the Miller Vinatieri Leguizamon banner, the Carmel, Indiana resident scored fifth and sixth place results in races one and three as well as led laps in race two before being forced to the pit lane.
“The car was fantastic to drive,” explained Miller. “Mitch Davis gave me an awesome car and he and I worked very well together. My dad was my spotter and together we all worked well as a team. The Honda engine ran perfect and matched with the Pirelli tires, the car is a blast to drive. I am proud of everyone on the team and my great partners for giving me the opportunity to show the racing world that we can and will win races.”
In race one of the weekend, Miller was able to run in the top-five of the stout 33 car field. Maintaining his position throughout the race, the former karter and future star of the sport secured a solid fifth place finish.
Race two looked very promising for the second generation driver as he progressed forward from his fourth place starting spot. Miller would take the lead after the opening laps but was penalized for moving early on the Formula One style standing starts. Understanding and accepting the drive through penalty, Miller relinquished the lead to enter pit lane and serve his violation. After rejoining race two at the tail of the field, Miller proceeded to march his way forward before contact punctured one of his rear tires, forcing him to retire.
Due to the puncture and unfortunate ‘Did Not Finish’ result in race two, Miller was forced to start race three from deep in the field in the 22nd position. Advancing forward and showing his natural skills and abilities, Miller drove like a veteran as he entered the top-ten. Continuing his forward progression, Jack William Miller would end the third and final event of the weekend with a remarkable sixth place finish.
“Jack William did a fantastic job of driving. He stayed focused throughout the runs and drove like a champion,” expressed Jack Miller, father of the up and coming driver. “I am so proud of him, being only 13-years old and finishing so high up, I can’t wait to see him race in round two of the United States F4 Championship. I also need to say we absolutely couldn’t have done so well without Mitch Davis running the team. His knowledge is second to none, Mitch and Jack make a great team and work so well together.”
“The MVL F4 program is no joke,” explained Mitch Davis following the event. “Jack is an incredible young talent and has a bright future in the sport. I am honored to have the chance to work with such a young talent and look forward to helping him become a successful star in the world of motorsports.”
Jack William Miller would like to thank all of his marketing partners and everyone else who has made the start of the 2017 season a successful one. A special thank you to Gabby Chaves for driver coaching as well as Honda, Pirelli, Onroak, Mitch Davis and the entire MVL Race Team.
