DS Performance Runs New DS E-TENSE FE 19
DS ran its brand new Season Five ABB FIA Formula E Championship car, the DS E-TENSE FE 19, yesterday at its base in Satory, near Versailles, France.
The small amount of running took part within the grounds of the PSA affiliated company’s base and constitutes as one of the six filming days allowed for the manufacturer.
As revealed by e-racing365 last week, DS elected to conduct systems checks on the new car ahead of transporting it to Monteblanco this weekend for the first group manufacturer test which begins on Monday.
“With just days to go before Formula E’s first official pre-Season Five test, it was great to see the DS E-TENSE FE 19 run at our track in Satory,” said DS Director Xavier Mestelan-Pinon.
“The car’s different assemblies had previously been tested on the bench but this is the first time the fully assembled car has turned a wheel.
“Starting it was a rewarding moment for the team’s technical staff. It’s an occasion you never forget.”
The French manufacturer is set to conduct two days of initial development testing with the car. Stephane Sarrazin, who drove the car yesterday, will also be on-hand to drive the car during next week’s two-day test.
DS is set to partner with Techeetah in Season Five in a deal which is likely to be made public in July.
The DS E-TENSE FE 19’s release coincides with the launch of a new range of DS Automobiles electric vehicles.
The DS 7 CROSSBACK E-TENSE 4×4 will be the brand’s first model to feature the E-TENSE system which comprises a petrol engine and two electric motors for a peak power output of 300 hp.
