2017 WILL HAVE JM CORREA’S MAIN FOCUS ON THE ADAC FORMULA 4 CHAMPIONSHIP
American driver has one goal this season
Entering the 2016 season with the powerhouse Prema Team as a rookie, JM Correa was one of only a handful of race winners in the Italian F4 Championship Series. Shifting gears to 2017, the American driver is set to contest his sophomore season with the squad and has his sights set on the ADAC Formula 4 Championship powered by Abarth. The season starts this coming weekend for the young Correa as he will compete in the first of only three Italian F4 Championship Series events at the Misano World Circuit in Misano, Italy using the event as not only a warm-up, but the start of his 2017 wheel-to-wheel competition.
“The focus for 2017 is on the German Formula 4 program,” explained Correa. “The series has a full grid of talented drivers and the level of competition is quite high. While race wins, podiums and the overall series championship are the goals for the season, I will also focus on being more consistent throughout the course of the seven weekend championship.”
JM Correa will enter his first race of the season March 31 to April 2 in Misano as a tune up for the upcoming German F4 program which begins at the end of April. Paired with the potent Prema Team and on the strength of multiple victories in the Italian F4 Championship in 2016, Correa has quickly come to the forefront in a stout field of competitors. Regarded as one of the favorites for the 2017 season, the likeable driver is quickly becoming a fan favorite as he begins his climb up the motorsport ladder.
Correa continued, “I have a great group of marketing partners behind me and one of the best teams in all of motorsports. My on track job is to provide all of these people with great results and I can not wait to get started.”
Staying sharp in the off season, Correa took part in the highly competitive Florida Winter Tour karting program in the United States as he showed his true diversity scoring a pair of podium results with two different chassis and engine combinations.
