The Racers Group, one of the most successful teams in all of sportscar racing, is ready to push it to the limits in Utah as the team goes full-throttle for the third round of Pirelli World Challenge SprintX GTS competition. Fan favorites Jason Alexandridis and Derek DeBoer are teaming up to defend their 2016 SprintX win on the track in the TRG #09 Aston Martin Vantage GT4.
TRG knows the Utah track well, having achieved marked success across many marques and series over the years, including the epic Grand American Rolex Series GT drivers’ championship with the Pontiac GTO.R. That race also led to TRG capturing the team championship, carrying Pontiac to the GT manufacturer title. Podiums in 2008, 2010 and 2015 followed in Porsche GT3 Cup. TRG claimed the top two positions on the podium in both SprintX races last year as well as a victory in 2014. Now, expectations are at an apex as TRG, Alexandridis and DeBoer look to continue the win streak and claim victory once again in Utah.

Jason Alexandridis has contested the 3.048 mile, 14-turn circuit six times and has never finished off of the podium, with four wins and two second places. “When I think about Utah, I think about winning,” he says. “I can’t wait to get back in the driver’s seat. The car is ready and I know with TRG everything will be just right. Derek and I will be well-positioned to get the maximum out of the car on one of our favorite tracks.”
“I feel like we just got the band back together,” Derek DeBoer says. His first experience at Utah Motorsports Campus — with a win and a second place — was a huge highlight from a breakout season last year. “I couldn’t be more excited to get back on the track with my racing family. It’s been far too long and I’m ready to capitalize on this amazing opportunity to head back to Utah and race with Jason, Kevin and the entire team.”

“This is going to be a fantastic SprintX weekend for us running with our #09 Aston Martin GT4 and with Jason and Derek,” says team owner Kevin Buckler. “It really is like the band is coming back for a greatest hits tour as these two guys really rocked it for us all season long last year, and especially in Utah with first and second place finishes for the team. Everybody on the team is looking forward to supporting our drivers in Utah and going for that maximum result.”
