15:17 – Formula 1 fans can watch the 2001 Malaysian Grand Prix online, in full, after the event came out on top in a fan vote, the first of its kind under the sport’s new owner, Liberty Media.

Sepang will host its 19th and final Grand Prix this weekend and, to mark the occasion, F1 recently announced that it would share a previous race online for a 19-day period.

Fans could choose from Michael Schumacher’s victory in the rain in 2001, Kimi Räikkönen’s first win in 2003 and Fernando Alonso beating Sergio Pérez in a wet/dry encounter in 2012.

In the vote, on the official Formula 1 website and through social media, the 2001 race picked up a 42.5 per cent share, followed by 2012 (34.9 per cent) and 2003 (22.6 per cent).

You can watch the race in full via the official Formula 1 website.
