Corvette Racing Wins Third Straight Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring

There’s something about the two-car Corvette Racing C7.R team – when one car has a big problem, the other car seems to step up and win the race. It happened last year at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida: The No. 3 Corvette crashed, ending up 41st overall in the 48-car field. But the No. 4 team car took the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class win.

Alex Job Racing’s Landy finishes fourth in second IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup race at Sebring

This afternoon, Landy started seventh in the second Porsche GT3 Cup race. He got off to a good start and continued to put down consistent laps that put him in the top five about half way into the 45-minute race. From there, he put constant pressure on the cars in front of him as he was knocking on the door of his first GT3 Platinum cup podium finish of the season. Unfortunately, he simply ran out of time.

Ford GT 1-2 Qualifying Sweep at Sebring Led by Briscoe

Ford Chip Ganassi Racing’s quest for the ultimate trifecta in sports car endurance racing – three straight victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Rolex 24 At Daytona and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida – looks entirely within reach after GT Le Mans (GTLM) qualifying Friday afternoon at Sebring International Raceway. One of Ganassi’s Ford GTs, won its class at the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans on the 50th anniversary of the original Ford GT’s overall victory there. The same car, wearing its familiar No. 66 in WeatherTech Championship competition rather than the No. 68 it sported at Le Mans, also won the 2017 Rolex 24 At Daytona with the same driver lineup – regulars Joey Hand and Dirk Mueller, helped on the longer races by IndyCar driver Sebastien Bourdais.

Alex Job Racing to Field Sebastian Landy in IMSA Porsche Cup

Landy is a Porsche standout already, having placed second last year in the Gold category on the strength of  running 16 races, where he amassed 10 wins, 14 podiums and five pole positions to finish the season second in the points standings. In 2017 Landy will be moving up to the ultra-competitive Platinum Class in his No. 49 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car. “Moving up to the Platinum Championship this year was always a goal of mine and I know it is going to be a challenge,” Landy said. “With a brand new Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car for 2017, the most important part of the off-season for me has been getting as much time in the new car as possible so we can start the year off in the right way.
