DXDT RACING ASSEMBLES STRONG LINEUPS FOR THE INDIANAPOLIS 8 HOUR

This October, the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS series will conclude the 2022 race season with the biggest race of the year: The Indianapolis 8 Hour. Mercedes AMG customer racing team DXDT Racing will be armed with stout lineups, adding Valentin Pierburg and Patrick Assenheimer to the No. 63 Mercedes AMG GT3 and No. 08 Mercedes AMG GT3, respectively. Aiming for the overall win in the Pro class and the win in the Am class, the team will shake up the lineups in both cars, moving David Askew and Scott Smithson to the same car while Dirk Muller and Bryan Sellers race alongside in the sister car.

THE HEART OF RACING TEAM SEEKS TITLES IN IMSA FINALE

Aston Martin’s Vantage GT3 heads into this weekend’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship finale at Road Atlanta, GA, on the brink of a historic achievement for the British ultra-luxury sports car brand. Aston Martin Racing’s Seattle-based partner team The Heart of Racing begins the finale of North America’s premier endurance series leading the GTD Class Teams’ Championship with Roman De Angelis (CDN) on top of the class Drivers’ standings. Moreover, Aston Martin remains firmly in contention for the GTD Manufacturers crown.

WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS MAKES FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP BID AT PETIT LE MANS

After beginning the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with a victory at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Wright Motorsports heads to the season finale at Petit Le Mans for a final bid at the GTD class title. The No. 16 Porsche, with drivers Ryan Hardwick, Jan Heylen, and Zacharie Robichon, will compete in the 10-hour endurance event will all eyes focused on adding another championship title to the team’s remarkable history.

PORSCHE CARRERA CUP NORTH AMERICA COMES TO ATLANTA WITH NO TITLES DECIDED

The 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup North America Presented by the Cayman Islands season ends with rounds 15 and 16 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, September 29 – 30. The premier one-make series has enjoyed remarkable growth in its second season in all areas. This weekend that continued success includes on-track action with 35 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars entered for the Braselton, Georgia track. Championships in its three classes and the Entrants title are all undecided as practice begins on Wednesday, September 28. The 2.54-mile, 12-turn race course with its long straights, sweeping corners, technical turns and elevation changes cut through the red Georgia clay northeast of Atlanta plays host to the final two 40-minute races of the series’ second year. With four drivers capable of capturing the Pro class title, two in the Pro-Am category and three in the Am class – all racing the same type 992 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car directly based on the road-going Porsche 911 GT3 – who will stand at the front of the Celebration of Champions to receive the impressive list of awards and trophies all comes down to this weekend.

MERCEDES-AMG WANTS TO CONTINUE ITS WINNING STREAK IN IGTC DURING THE INDIANAPOLIS 8 HOUR

After Bathurst and Spa, the next highlight in the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli (IGTC) is on the schedule for Mercedes-AMG. In the Indianapolis 8 Hour, the teams with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 want to continue their successful streak. During the season opener at Mount Panorama, there was a lock-out of the top three, followed by another overall win in the 24-hour race in the Belgian Ardennes. With five out of six possible podium slots, Mercedes-AMG is clearly in the lead of both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ standings. The upcoming 8-hour race in Indianapolis (8th October 2022) is the penultimate IGTC round and also the finale of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS. In total, eight Mercedes-AMG GT3 are competing at the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

PORSCHE CUSTOMER TEAMS APPROACH PETIT LE MANS FINALE AS TITLE CONTENDERS

Entering the 25th Anniversary Motul Petit Le Mans, Porsche customer programs are not only contenders for victory at the silver anniversary of the 10-hour classic American endurance race but also for championships in every major GT category. Three Porsche 911 GT3 R race cars are entered for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season finale at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on October 1. The No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche will represent the German sports car manufacturer in the GTD Pro class with Wright Motorsports and Hardpoint carry the banner in the GTD class. Pfaff and Wright are each targeting back-to-back WeatherTech crowns with the  510 hp Porsche 911 GT3 R race cars.

SILVERSTONE WEEKEND SENDS PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB CHAMPIONSHIP DOWN TO THE WIRE

Porsche Carrera Cup GB – the fastest single-marque GT racing championship in the UK – travelled to Silverstone for its penultimate weekend of the season. Kiern Jewiss (Team Parker Racing) drove to two overall victories, significantly bolstering his championship chances. However, the Pro category title fight will go down to the wire at the season finale at Brands Hatch in October. Meanwhile, a jubilant Charles Rainford (CCK Motorsport) secured two category wins – enough to see him crowned provisional 2022 Pro-Am champion at Silverstone.

SEBRING SWEEP CROWNS CALDARELLI AS AS GT WORLD CHALLENGE AMERICA SERIES CHAMPION

Andrea Caldarelli was all smiles when he met teammate Michele Beretta in Sebring International Raceway Victory Lane. Following a win that sealed the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS Team Championship for K-PAX Racing, a sweep of the weekend rewarded Caldarelli with a crown of his own. K-PAX Racing earned four podiums in Rounds 11 & 12, on its way to clinch multiple titles ahead of the season finale.
