PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT ENTERS CRUCIAL STAGE AT SILVERSTONE

The fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, heads to Silverstone with title battles raging in each of the three championship categories – Pro, Pro-Am and Am. All the leading protagonists will head to Silverstone facing the perennial challenge of balancing the need to score consistent points with fending off a competitive pack of 23 cars.

EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER FOR THE GRT GRASSER RACING TEAM AT THE SACHSENRING

From the Alps of Austria to the undulating Sachsenring: last weekend, GRT Grasser Racing Team were competing in the penultimate round of the ADAC GT Masters in front of more than 20,000 spectators. The 3.64km circuit near Chemnitz is considered to be a drivers’ delight and therefore an ideal arena for the team’s six Lamborghini Huracán GT3 drivers to parade their skills.

BMW M8 GTE EARNS SECOND CONSECUTIVE SEASON VICTORY AND THIRD BMW WIN IN FOUR YEARS AT LAGUNA SECA

BMW Team RLL recorded the team’s 19th victory and 73rd podium finish since beginning in 2009 with a second consecutive 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTLM class victory for the BMW M8 GTE in today’s America’s Tire 250 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The victory is the second consecutive triumph for the all-new BMW M8 GTE racing car and the third BMW win in the GTLM class at Laguna Seca in the last four years.

ESM SECURES VICTORY AT LAGUNA SECA

Tequila Patrón ESM returned to victory circle this weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, starting from the rear of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship field to win the Continental Monterey Grand Prix by ten seconds. The No. 22 Nissan Onroak DPi of Pipo Derani and Johannes van Overbeek won its second race of 2018, also clinching victory at the Twelve Hours of Sebring earlier this season.

PAUL MILLER RACING KEEPS IMSA GTD POINTS LEAD AFTER FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT LAGUNA SECA

Sunday afternoon at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Paul Miller Racing put forth an incredible display of driving expertise and strategy execution to finish in fourth place in the Continental Monterey Grand Prix. Co-drivers Madison Snow and Bryan Sellers endured a chaotic race to defend their points lead over the No. 86 Acura. Heading into the final round at Road Atlanta, Paul Miller Racing holds a six point lead for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

AUDI DRIVERS ERHART AND KAFFER SPRING LATE SURPRISE ADAC GT MASTERS VICTORY

There were two surprise winners at the Sachsenring on Sunday, as the championship took yet another twist ahead of the grand finale at Hockenheim in two weeks’ time. The Audi duo of Elia Erhart (30, GER) and Pierre Kaffer (41, GER, both EFP by TECE) exploited one of many safety car deployments in Sunday’s race to make a tactically well-timed pit stop and claim a maiden ADAC GT Masters victory. With Sheldon van der Linde (19, ZA) and Kelvin van der Linde (22, ZA, both Montaplast by Land-Motorsport) in the runner-up spot and Jeffrey Schmidt (24, CH) and Stefan Mücke (36, Berlin, both BWT Mücke Motorsport) finishing third, the podium ceremony was monopolised by Audi R8 LMS drivers. Meanwhile, fourth place for the Porsche partnership of Robert Renauer (33, GER) and Mathieu Jaminet (23, FRA, both Precote Herberth Motorsport) was enough to take them to the top of the championship table, with only one more event remaining on the calendar. “Magnificent,” said a jubilant Erhart. “I’m actually speechless. It was such a tough fight towards the end. It became clear to me that racing is all about what’s going on in your head, and my head really wanted to win.”
