RAYBRIG NSX-GT’s YAMAMOTO WINS SUPER GT SUGO POLE POSITION

The qualifying for the “SUGO GT 300km RACE,” Round 4 of the 2018 AUTOBACS SUPER GT, was held at Sportsland SUGO (one lap: 3,704 m) in Miyagi Prefecture on October 15. In the GT500 class qualifying, the No. 100 RAYBRIG NSX-GT driven by Naoki Yamamoto and Jenson Button won pole position (1st qualifier). In the GT300 class, the No. 61 SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT driven by Takuto Iguchi and Hideki Yamauchi won the class pole.

PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB CHAMPIONSHIP RIVALS FACE-OFF ON FRONT ROW AT SILVERSTONE

Dino Zamparelli (Redline Racing) overcame intense competition to claim pole position in qualifying for Round Thirteen of the Carrera Cup GB championship at Silverstone. In a quick-fire exchange of fastest lap times towards the end of the session, Zamparelli, Tio Ellinas (Slidesports Engineering) and 17-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior, Dan Harper, ended Saturday’s qualifying separated by just 0.060s. Championship rivals Zamparelli and Ellinas will share the front row for the first of tomorrow’s races on a weekend that will prove pivotal in their pursuit of title glory.

PLATO TOPS PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB FAST FRIDAY AT SILVERSTONE

As the Porsche Carrera Cup GB entered its penultimate weekend, Lewis Plato (JTR) edged ahead in the morning and afternoon Practice sessions at Silverstone. Friday’s combined times saw the top four Pro category runners covered by just 0.086s, Plato lapped 0.046s quicker than championship leader Dino Zamparelli (Redline Racing) in P2. Zamparelli’s chief title rival Tio Ellinas (Slidesports Engineering) recorded the fifth quickest time of the day, lapping the fast Silverstone National circuit only 0.079s slower than Zamparelli. 

READY FOR FORMULA E SEASON 5: BMW iFE.18 AND BMW i ANDRETTI MOTORSPORT LAUNCHED IN MUNICH

The stage is set for the car and the team that BMW will enter in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship as of Season 5. On Friday, BMW i Motorsport presented the new BMW iFE.18 and the new BMW i Andretti Motorsport team at BMW Welt’s double cone in Munich (GER). The all-electric racing car impresses with a fascinating design, whereas the showpiece of the BMW iFE.18 – the innovative drivetrain – is hidden deep inside. The drivetrain was developed using the expertise of the same engineers that designed that of the BMW i3. BMW i and BMW Motorsport are working on the Formula E project in tandem, thereby facilitating a technology transfer between series development and motorsport unprecedented in this form. The two BMW iFE.18 cars, which will be in action for BMW i Andretti Motorsport in the Formula E races around the world as of December, will have the BMW works drivers António Félix da Costa (POR) and Alexander Sims (GBR) at the wheel.

THE HONDA NSX GT3 TO MAKE ITS GT OPEN DEBUT AT MONZA

The Monza round of the International GT Open, always a special event in the season, will see a stellar addition to the entry list, as the Honda NSX GT3 will make its debut in the series! Entered by Honda Racing Team JAS, one unit of the Japanese GT racer will be starring at the Autodromo in the hands of two top drivers, Esteban Guerrieri and Bertrand Baguette, who both are Honda factory drivers.

SWIFT RETURN TO BIRA FOR B-QUIK YOUNG DRIVER PROGRAMME

Just a fortnight after the B-Quik Young Driver Programme was in the thick of the action at Bira International Circuit during Thailand Super Series’ (TSS) fourth round of the year there’s a swift return to the Pattaya racetrack for our rookie drivers as the focus now switches to the second round of the RAAT Thailand Endurance Championship 2018, which is coming up this weekend (15-16 September).

GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES SET FOR EXCITING NÜRBURGRING FINALE

This weekend, the twisty and undulating 5.148 km Nürburgring will stage the sixth race weekend of the 2018 GT4 European Series. The concluding round brings the curtain down on an action-packed season that has seen a record number of entries taking part in the championship. With the titles in all categories still to be decided, the Nürburgring race weekend promises to be a thriller!

PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT ENTERS CRUCIAL STAGE AT SILVERSTONE

The fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, heads to Silverstone with title battles raging in each of the three championship categories – Pro, Pro-Am and Am. All the leading protagonists will head to Silverstone facing the perennial challenge of balancing the need to score consistent points with fending off a competitive pack of 23 cars.

EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER FOR THE GRT GRASSER RACING TEAM AT THE SACHSENRING

From the Alps of Austria to the undulating Sachsenring: last weekend, GRT Grasser Racing Team were competing in the penultimate round of the ADAC GT Masters in front of more than 20,000 spectators. The 3.64km circuit near Chemnitz is considered to be a drivers’ delight and therefore an ideal arena for the team’s six Lamborghini Huracán GT3 drivers to parade their skills.
