PORSCHE GT TEAM DISPLAYS STRONG TEAM EFFORT IN LE MANS FIRST QUALIFYING

At the first qualifying for the final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC in Le Mans (France), the Porsche GT Team has left a strong impression. In the GTE-Pro class, all four Porsche 911 RSR claimed a spot in the top six. At the wheel of the ca. 510 hp 911, Nick Tandy achieved the second quickest lap time with 3:49.558 minutes in the two-hour qualifying session on the storied 13.626-kilometre racetrack. The British driver shares the No. 93 car with Patrick Pilet (France) and Earl Bamber (New Zealand).

EIGHT FERRARIS ON THE ROAD TO LE MANS

The first free practice sessions of the Road to Le Mans 2019, the most eagerly awaited event of the Le Mans Cup, are now just a few hours away. Eight Ferraris will line up for the third round of the series out of a total of 49 cars, 17 of which will be competing in the GT3 class representing six different manufacturers.

MERCEDES-AMG WITH HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR THE 24 HOUR NURBURGRING

The season highlight for Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing is getting closer: from 20-23 June, the 47th running of the legendary 24-hour race will be taking place at the Nürburgring. The 160-car field includes seven Mercedes-AMG GT3s. Thus, Mercedes-AMG is one of the manufacturers with the largest representation in the SP9 class. Two cars of the Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON have already been able to secure their slots for top qualifying: the #2 entry with Adam Christodoulou (GBR), Maro Engel, Manuel Metzger and Dirk Müller (all GER) as well as the #3 with Maximilian Buhk, Hubert Haupt, Thomas Jäger and Luca Stolz (all GER). During the race weekend, the further cars (1x Mercedes-AMG Team BLACK FALCON, 1x Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER, 3x GetSpeed Performance) will be aiming at one of the coveted top qualifying slots during qualifying to obtain a good starting grid position for the race twice around the clock.

AUDI R8 LMS GT4 SET FOR BLANCPAIN GT WORLD CHALLENGE ASIA DEBUT

The Audi R8 LMS GT4 will make its debut in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia next weekend, with reigning Audi Sport R8 LMS GT4 Cup champion Anderson Tanoto of Indonesia and experienced Australian privateer Mark Williamson at the wheel. The pair joins four GT3 Audi Sport customer racing Asia entries contesting the overall, Silver and Pro/Am titles for round three of the championship at the iconic 5.807km Suzuka Circuit in Japan from 22-23 June.

SIXTY-ONE DRIVERS TO COMPETE IN FERRARI CHALLENGE EUROPE AT LE MANS

Excitement is mounting for the fourth round of the Ferrari Challenge Europe at the La Sarthe circuit on Saturday 15 June, just hours before the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is a special event, different from any other in the Prancing Horse one-make series, which will see all the 488 Challenge on track for a single 35-minute race that promises to be extraordinarily hard-fought and exciting. Sixty-one competitors are registered for the event, including some drivers who usually participate in the other two international series of the Prancing Horse, the North America and Asia-Pacific. From the North American Championship, held last weekend in Montreal in conjunction with the Formula 1 Grand Prix, we will see among others Thomas Tippl and Lisa Clark. The former is the Coppa Shell reigning champion, while the latter is the Ladies Cup leader and is aspiring rival of Agata Smolka.

TOYOTA GAZOO RACING TAKES ON THE CHALLENGE OF 24 HOURS OF NURBURGRING

The Nürburgring 24 Hours Endurance Race is a demanding event that takes place over the course of 24 hours on the circuit that is 25km in length, has a maximum altitude difference of 300m, and features more than 170 corners. TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has competed in this event since 2007 with the aim of “refining team members, refining cars” in pursuit of “making ever-better cars”, and the race has represented the roots of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing ever since.The employees who compete and grow in such a demanding environment will apply their experience to vehicle development in the future. In addition, the cars competing at the race will incorporate and refine parts and advanced technologies intended for future road cars.

GEOFF EMERY AND GARTH TANDER PREVAIL IN PHILLIP ISLAND ENDRO

Reigning Australian GT Champion Geoff Emery and co-driver Garth Tander have claimed top honours in the opening round of the CAMS Australian Endurance Championship under sunny skies at Phillip Island, the Audi duo withstanding all challenges to give the German marque it’s third consecutive win in the event, in the process crossing the line with the biggest winning margin since GT enduros returned to the Island in 2014.

GRT GRASSER IN THE POINTS WILL ALL THREE CARS IN SUNDAY’S ADAC GT MASTERS RACE AT RED BULL RING

For Orange1 by GRT Grasser, last weekend with their home race at the Red Bull Ring was the highlight of the ADAC GT Masters season. Team headquarters are in Knittelfeld just a few kilometres from the track. The outfit wanted to do well in front of a home crowd – more than 16,000 spectators came to the Red Bull Ring at the weekend. The success they had hoped to achieve came in the second race, as all three Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVOs finished in the points. The Balance of Performance (BoP), damage to tyres and confusion about track limits prevented a better result in the first race.

CETILAR RACING SET FOR THE LE MANS 24 HOURS AS THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

The 24 Hours of Le Mans fires into action, as the 87th edition of the historical La Sarthe’s race starts next Saturday, 15 June, marking the third consecutive participation of Cetilar Racing. With only five days to the green flag, Roberto Lacorte and Giorgio Sernagiotto are all set to make their third appearance in the French “marathon” driving the #47 Dallara-Gibson LMP2 car technically supported by Villorba Corse, as Andrea Belicchi is really excited to celebrate his tenth 24H.

B-QUIK RACING EXTENDS WINNING RUN IN BURIRAM

Another superb weekend for B-Quik Racing Co. Ltd. TM (“B-Quik Racing”) as the second round of Thailand Super Series (“TSS”) 2019 took the teams to Buriram’s Chang International Circuit where victory in Race 2 was claimed by our #26 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo in the hands of Henk Kiks and Daniel Bilski, their second overall win from the four races held so far this year.
