BMW i ANDRETTI MOTORSPORT FINISHES FIRST FORMULA E SEASON WITH SUPERB RESULT

BMW i Andretti Motorsport has finished the ABB FIA Formula E Championship 2018/19 with another podium success. At the wheel of the #27 BMW iFE.18, Alexander Sims (GBR) secured second place in the New York City E-Prix after starting the race from pole position. After the 13th and final race of the season, Sims stood on the podium for the first time in his Formula E career. He was able to defend first place until the 18th lap, before conceding the lead to eventual winner Robin Frijns (NED, Virgin). António Félix da Costa (POR) reached ninth place in the second BMW iFE.18.

R-MOTORSPORT IN BLANCPAIN GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE SILVER CUP DOUBLE

Aaro Vainio and Hugo de Sadeleer registered their best performance so far in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe at Zandvoort in the Netherlands this weekend. In Saturday’s race around the dunes on the North Sea coast, the two Juniors finished sixth overall, which was enough to give them a maiden victory in the Silver Cup. Buoyed by their success, the duo went on to repeat the result on Sunday and put themselves in a promising position in the title chase.

AUSTRALIAN GT VICTORY TO VAN GISBERGEN AND TALBOT AT THE BEND

Shane van Gisbergen has added to his tally of Australian GT endurance championship victories with his maiden win in a Lamborghini Huracan alongside fellow former endurance race winner Liam Talbot, the pair emerging from the three-hour race around The Bend Motorsport Park with a win over points leaders Geoff Emery and Garth Tander, and former endurance champions Peter Hackett and Dom Storey.

AUDI SPORT ABT SCHAEFFLER AND LUCAS DI GRASSI MAINTAIN FORMULA E TITLE CHANCES

After the first race of the Formula E double-header finale in New York (USA), Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler is right in the fight to win both titles. Audi driver Lucas di Grassi is one of four drivers who could clinch the title in the last race on Sunday (start at 4pm local time/10pm CEST). In the teams’ classification, Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler has reduced the gap to DS Techeetah to 24 points.

GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES VICTORY FOR PHOENIX RACING AUDI AT ZADVOORT

The #1 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4 took victory in the opening race at Zandvoort, the ninth race of the 2019 GT4 European Series season. After 31 laps round the Dutch circuit, Nicolaj Møller-Madsen and Cédric Freiburghaus claimed their first victory of the season. Marius Zug and Gabriele Piana were victorious in the Pro-Am class, while Alessandro Giovanelli and Bob Herber took the win in the Am class.

Having produced four different winners from four races, the Coppa Shell class promises to replicate the exciting and unpredictable action seen at both Brands Hatch and Snetterton.

LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE HEADS NORTH FOR MAIDEN ZANVOORT VISIT

Following an exciting pair of races at Misano, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe makes the trip from the Adriatic coast to the sand dunes of Zandvoort in the Netherlands for round three of the 2019 season. With two qualifying sessions to decide the starting grid for the two 50-minute races – including a rolling start and mandatory pit-stops – action will start with Friday’s free practice sessions at the historic Dutch Grand Prix circuit.
