Bonaldi Motorsport’s Dean Stoneman and Kikko Galbiati claimed victory in the first Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe race of the weekend at the Nürburgring, beating Target Competition’s Miloš Pavlović and Raul Guzman by just over four seconds. It was Stoneman’s second win in succession this year after his Race 2 victory in the opening round at Misano, while Galbiati secured yet another triumph at the German circuit following his double victory for Imperiale Racing in 2019.
Lluc Ibanez and Xavier Lloveras gave NM Racing Team victory in the first GT4 European Series race at Nürburgring, claiming their second victory of the 2020 season. Victory in Pro-Am went to Allied Racing, while AGS Events won the Am class.
Eight months out of the No. 86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 didn’t phase Shinya Michimi as he made his first qualifying run on Friday since Daytona International Speedway in January. Michimi put the AutoNation Acura NSX GT3 fourth for Saturday’s six hour race at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
WeatherTech Racing drivers Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.), Toni Vilander (Kankaanpää, Finland), and Jeff Westphal (San Mateo, Calif.) will start the IMSA WeatherTech Championship race at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta from eighth in GTD.
