THE DENSO KOBELCO SARD GR OUT RACES THE SUPER GT FIELD AT FUJI

The Takanokono Hotel FUJI GT 300km RACE, Round 5 of the 2020 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, was held at the Fuji Speedway (one lap 4,563m×66 laps) in Shizuoka Prefecture on October 4 (Sun). In the GT500 class, the No. 39 DENSO KOBELCO SARD GR Supra (Heikki Kovalainen/Yuichi Nakayama) came from 5th place on the starting grid to run away in the final stages and take its first win of the season. In the GT300 class, REALIZE NISSAN AUTOMOBILE TECHNICAL COLLEGE GT-R (Kiyoto Fujinami/Joao Paulo de Oliveira) gave team manager Masahiko Kondo’ team its first class victory.

ARTA NSX-GT TAKES ITS SECOND STRAIGHT SUPER GT POLE AT FUJI

The qualifying for the Takanokono Hotel FUJI GT 300km RACE, Round 5 of the 2020 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, was held at the Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture on October 3 (Sat). In the GT500 class, the pole position was taken by Fukuzumi in the No. 8 ARTA NSX-GT (Tomoki Nojiri /Nirei Fukuzumi). In the GT300 class, it was Kotaka in the No. 6 ADVICS muta MC86 Ryohei Sakaguchi/Kazuto Kotaka) that took the class pole. For both teams it was their second straight pole position at Fuji following Round 2. These two cars will start tomorrow’s race from the front position in their respective class grids at 13:30 in the afternoon.

MARCO POLO MOTORSPORTS MAKES FINAL GT4 AMERICA DRIVER CHAMPIONSHIP BID AT INDIANAPOLIS

The fight for the GT4 America championship title in the SprintX Silver class has come down to the season finale event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This weekend, Nicolai Elghanayan and Mads Siljehaug, drivers of the No. 71 KTM X-BOW GT4 Evo, will participate in two final races of the 2020 season at the iconic circuit. The team will also run a second car for the weekend, with drivers Vincent Piemonte and Dieter-Heinz Kijora in the No. 74 KTM X-BOW GT4 Evo in the Am class.

GT4 AMERICA CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE TO BE DETERMINED AT INDIANAPOLIS FOR FLYING LIZARD MOTORSPORTS

The 2020 GT4 America championship will come to a close this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway where Flying Lizard Motorsports will put up a final fight for three championship titles. Michael Dinan, driver of the No. 210 Aston Martin Vantage GT4, secured the Sprint Am driver championship earlier this month at the Circuit of the Americas, leaving the Sprint Am team championship and SprintX Pro/Am driver and team championships still up for grabs. All three Flying Lizard machines will take place in the Sprint and SprintX double headers, with the No. 21 Aston Martin of Michael Dinan and Robby Foley and the No. 30 McLaren 570S GT4 of Erin Vogel and Michael Cooper racing in SprintX, joined by Dinan’s No. 210 Aston in Sprint.

K-PAX Racing is faced with a challenging but rewarding task within the next week, preparing for an across the world excursion for two of the season’s most anticipated endurance races in the month of October. The team, which has maintained an American-based operation while firmly stepping into Europe – all within World Challenge – will first continue its inaugural European tour by getting a first look at the TOTAL 24 Hours of Spa circuit with the series’ test days, followed by a detour back stateside to help extend the championship hopes for three of its drivers in Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli (IGTC).

TWELVE DRIVERS AND A NEW TEAM FROM AUDI SPORT AT THE SPA 24 HOURS

Just two days after the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the course is set for the next long-distance classic from October 22 to 25: The three best Audi factory drivers from the DTM will contest the Spa 24 Hours together with nine drivers from Audi Sport customer racing in four different Audi R8 LMS. In addition to Audi Sport Team WRT and Audi Sport Team Saintéloc, the Attempto Racing squad will strengthen the brand’s line-up for the first time.

ADAC GT MASTERS AT THE SACHSENRING: ‘WHO’S IN LINE FOR THE HALFTIME TITLE’?

The unofficial half-time title is at stake – and there will be spectators there to see it won. When the Sachsenring hosts the fourth round of the 2020 ADAC GT Masters next weekend (2nd – 4th October), the main contenders in the Super Sports Car League will be looking to position themselves strongly for the run-in to the real title. Thanks to the biosecurity measures put in place by the Sachsenring in consultation with the ADAC GT Masters, the health authorities have agreed to a maximum of 6,000 spectators per day being admitted to the viewing facilities at the track. After securing their first victory of the season in the most recent fixture at Hockenheim, reigning champions Patric Niederhauser (28, CH) and Kelvin van der Linde (24, ZA, both Rutronik Racing) will travel to the Sachsenring as leaders in the standings for the first time this season. But the Audi duo have the pursuing bunch hot on their heels.
